Once on This Island Cast

Sebastian Medina is a Junior at Kipp. Sebastian was last seen in Cathy, as Glen and Gary, Ranked, as Ryan, and One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest As Mac. Sebastian has enjoyed seeing Tech progress. Sebastian would like to thank Cesar, Ms. Spencer and Cathy. "Have fun chasing pink elephants" :)

Emily Smith is a Junior at Rise. Emily’s work was last seen as Sydney Summer in Ranked, and Bex in Cathy. Emily has enjoyed the connections everyone has made with the story and how close we are becoming. Emily would like to thank her Mother and Best Friend for helping her during the process of casting, because they helped her remember that, no matter the outcome that were always there for my support. “One Small girl… Not so small”

Josheb is a student at Rise. The last time Josheb worked was on Cuckoos Nest. This is his second time he has ever acted in a show. Josheb has enjoyed the connection with the cast and crew. Being able to laugh and be around all of them comfortably because he sees them as family. Josheb would like to thank Ms. Postma, the OG theater teacher. Ms. Palko for pushing him to be better. And Geoffrey for getting him to join the show even when he wasn’t confident enough to be on stage. I made the cool stairs in the aud.

Julieta Victoria Solis is a Senior at Rise who has been in productions since freshman year. She started out her acting career as Narrator 2 in 10 Ways to Survive a Zombie Apocalypse and now her final performance will be in Once On This Island Mama Euralie. She has enjoyed these past four years and will greatly miss everyone at Strive Prep Rise. She wants everyone to know that she is so proud and she loves them all. With this company and without the support of her family she doesn’t know whether she could do this.

Andrea Gallego is Senior at Rise. Andrea’s work was last seen as Nurse Ratched for One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest. Andrea has enjoyed the dancing and ensemble work that has been going on during rehearsals! I would like to thank my twin sister for always being there and helping me run lines and help me sing the songs! I would also like to thank RPA for giving me an opportunity to bring in their shoes and giving me strong friendships and fun memories!!

Kailah Delgado is a Sophomore at Rise. Kailah has been last seen during the fall play "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest" as Candy Star. Also last years musical Ranked as Maya. Kailah has enjoyed making new friend and making memories. Kailah would like to thank Jess for putting up with her breakdowns. "The goal isn't to life forever but to create something that will".

Geoffrey Juniel is a Sophomore at Rise. Geoffrey was last on stage as Aide Williams in One Flew Over a Cuckoo’s Nest. Geoffrey enjoyed learning the choreography. Geoffrey would like to thank Morgan for being an amazing understudy that is very fun to be around. “Listen to Planet Nix on Soundcloud”.

Catherine Montoya is a Junior at Rise.Catherine was last seen on stage as Scanlon in One Flew. Catherine has enjoyed being with this theatre family once more and finding joy in telling this story from the perspective of someone else. Over the Cuckoo’s Nest. Catherine would like to thank Sebastian for being there and encouraging her to build the confidence for this musical.

Oscar, a senior at RISE, first got involved with speech and debate. This experience led him to join RPA last year during the One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest production. After making so many good memories from the last show, he has decided to stick around with the company one last time for the musical and has had a great time so far. Once on this Island is his first musical production and he is thrilled that he is able to tell a great story.

Morgan Wikins is a Sophomore at Kipp. Morgan was last in the Brothers Grimm Spectaculathon as Narrator 1. Morgan has enjoyed getting to know/perform with this many new people the most. Morgan would like to thank all of the RPA teachers who worked hard to put this show together. :)

James is a Sophomore at Rise. The first time this schoolar was on stage here he was by far one of the most comedic parts of any show that he was in now he returns for Once on this island. By far performing in the round has been a interesting yet exciting part of this musical. Obviously he thanks myself.

Kaleb (known as Gaus in RPA) is the Performing Arts teacher at RISE. He is also the Vocal Director for the cast. He is ecstatic that he is provided the opportunity to perform with his department. While it’s never the first choice for a director to step into their school’s show, Gaus is making the most of his experience. He trained at Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa and has his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre Education. Gaus has starred in roles such as Lenny in Neil Simon’s Rumors, Newsie Ensemble in Disney’s Newsies, and Lodovico in William Shakespeare’s Othello: the Moore of Venice. Gaus would like to thank his family, friends, work colleagues, and his department for everything they have done to support him through this production. “And on this island, we tell the story.
