About Once on This Island

Once On This Island is a coming of age story full of love, family, and community. Step into the world as members of the community gather around a fire during a terrifying hurricane. Become emersed into the story of Ti Moune, the local peasant girl and the wealthy boy, Daniel, separated on two sides of the same island. Join the gods as they take Ti Moune on an exploration between the different realms of light versus dark and love in the face of death. Walk with Ti Moune as she naively embarks on a journey to pursue Daniel, despite being shunned for her status. This story explores the tropes of forbidden love and love at first sight through emersive theatre that allows the audience to feel a part of the story from beginning to end.

Seating is in the round, so the audience fully surrounds the acting area.  Each section has certain moments that can be seen better than others, if you see the show multiple times, from multiple seats you will get a slightly different story.

The Saturday March 18th 2pm Matinee is our understudy cast performance.  We feel it is important to give understudies the opportunity to have a performance after learning the entire role.
