The Day the Internet Died Cast

Sloane, a current senior, is excited to be on stage again after some years. She enjoys all kinds of science and working with animals.

Blaine, a current sophomore at New Bern High School, enjoys mathematics and history, but his favorite subject is philosophy. Blaine has no experience in theatre but hopes that he performs well in the play.

Shianna/Ray, a freshman, is very excited to have their official debut in The Day The Internet Died at NBHS. They have recently been a part of a small play for preschoolers at Centenary United Methodist Church. They also participate in Girl Scouts at the same church in Troop 4813 as a senior. They volunteer locally during the summer. They want to thank their mom for letting them help around their community.

River Durham, a senior at New Bern High School, and ecstatic to be back on the stage in New Bern High School as well as being honored to be a part of this production, despite him being a last-minute addition to the cast. You may recognize him from his previous performances as Scuttle in The Little Mermaid (Elysian Players), Willy Wonka in Willy Wonka Jr. (New Bern Civic Theatre), Crutchie in Newsies Jr. (Rivertowne Players), and Albert J. Peterson in Bye Bye Birdie Youth Edition (New Bern High School) as well as his roles in 9 other shows. He's excited for you to see what he and his cast members have put together.

Corbin Estes, a freshman at NBHS, is glad to be a part of this production. They have been in shows, like Newsies, Jr. and Rehearsals. Corbin is happy to have gotten to spend time with friends while working on this show.

Jess has been in theater for 10+ years, starting in Rivertowne Players’ community show of The Little Mermaid, Jr. in 2013, then continuing onto many shows, including Charlotte’s Web and Alice in Wonderland, Jr. She was also recently in last semester’s production of Into The Woods, Jr. (NBHS). She’s ecstatic to be playing Agnes in The Day the Internet Died.

Emma, 14 and a current freshman at NBHS, enjoys musicals and has an extensive background in chorus. She has never been in a theatrical performance and is very excited to debut in this amazing production! She enjoys writing poetry and singing her heart out. She would like to thank her amazing cast who have been so supportive and talented, to her boyfriend, Ian, who is always there for her, and of course to her best friend Makayla who knows all her deepest darkest secrets but still loves her. And to the audience, Enjoy the show!!!

Dylan, 15, is a sophomore at New Bern High School. This is his third show. You may have recently seen him in Newsies, Jr. at Rivertowne Players where he played Davey. He also played the Mysterious Man in Into the Woods, Jr. at NBHS last spring. He’s very grateful for his cast and crew and hopes you love this show as much as he does!

Sophie has been doing theatre in New Bern since she was 9. Starting as ensemble in Once on This Island, Jr. (NBCT), and recently, Emma in Emma JV the Musical - a favorite of hers. She has been in every working aspect of a theatrical production, including recently directing Rehearsals (NBCT). Sophie would like to thank her friends and family who push her to achieve her full potential, and all her directors for giving her a chance to shine.

Tyler Scott, 16 and a current sophomore at New Bern High School, has been in two productions so far at NBHS. His first production was Oliver Rivers in Puffs. His second was Steward in Into the Woods. The Day the Internet Died will be his third production at NBHS. Tyler is excited for you to see the production that the cast and crew have worked so hard on!

Mia, a current freshman, is more than ecstatic to be a part of her second show. She has always had a passion for performing on stage, and before now has sung at private events and as a soloist for chorus. When she’s not working diligently on schoolwork, you can find her at Teen Court or writing literature as a hobby! She would like to thank her parents and teachers for helping her to get where she is today.

Aatman, a senior at NBHS, has resided in New Bern for two years. Recently, he has assisted with producing Addams Family at New Bern Civic Theater. In the past, he has been in shows such as Into The Woods, JR (NBHS) and Rehearsals (NBCT). He is very excited to play the role of the Sheriff and Tony, both of which he has put his full heart into. He would like to thank his family and friends, especially Dylan Muse who has supported his theater career since the beginning.

Jamie, a current junior, is happy to once again step into the spotlight after his last performance on stage within Vintage Hitchcock and A1 role in Rehearsals at New Bern Civic Theater. A fan of environmental science and the color pink, his enthusiasm for the stage has only been fostered and encouraged by not only his family but also the rest of his fellow cast members and directors.

ShyAnn Spellman lives in New Bern, NC with her family. She is currently a senior attending New Bern High School and participating in a multitude of clubs and extra activities including Theatre and Vocal Ensemble. She is also president of the Anime and Games Club and a member of ITS. She was a part of the Civic Theater before Covid hit and participated in a Christmas Skirmish before theater lessons were officially canceled. She enjoys spending her free time gaming and working on creating her own video game. She would like to thank Ms. Estes for allowing her to be a part of this valuable experience and is excited to do her best.

Christopher Robinson is in senior at NBHS and is thrilled to be playing a wide range of characters in this show. You might have seen him recently in Addams Family as Lucas and Rehearsals as Tim Brice (NBCT) and also Tiny Tom in Urinetown (RTP) as well as The Baker in Into the Woods, Jr. and Wayne Hopkins in Puffs (NBHS). He hopes to attend college for Theater Education after graduation.

Cody is 14 years old and a freshman at New Bern High School. This is his first theatrical experience.

Nikisha, a freshman at New Bern High School, is active in theatre and step team. She is enjoying being a part of this cast.
