The Silver Anniversary of The Millennium Theatre
$25 for the 25th Year
The Millennium Theatre was dedicated on March 5th, 1999. The first production, “Something's Afoot”, opened just two weeks later. As we celebrate this Silver Anniversary of our performing arts space, we are seeking $25 donations to help finish some of the recent improvements and round out our tech booth.
The goal from February 15 to April 21 is to raise $2500 for the following:
$1000 to replace the Cyclorama (upstage fabric wall) This would allow us to purchase and hang a new, bleached-white, seamless fabric used as both a lighting and projection surface. It would also give us the opportunity to expose and paint the underlying cinder block wall white to make the surface even more vivid.
$1000 for lighting instruments. We are adding modern moving lights to our inventory. This requires some improvements to our 25 year old electrical system. This is in an effort for the students to work with professional standard tools in our performing arts spaces.
$500 for software licensing. Q-Lab is the industry standard for sound effects and projection mapping. While the free version has been running our playback since 2016. The full version will allow for digital scenery, projection mapping, and open up new types of immersion in the space.
If we raise more than our target, each of these components has a stretch goal and upgrade to ensure the longevity of the upgrades.
Thank you for supporting the arts at MV.
