Alice By Heart Cast

(she/her) Becca is a freshman who has been at MV for 4.5 years. During that time she has been in 5 shows, not including Alice by Heart. Her favorite character so far was Aunt Spiker from James and the Giant Peach for her comical villainy, and her favorite show altogether was A Wrinkle in Time for its quirky existence. Becca is excited to portray Alice in Alice by Heart, although it will be a challenge. She is also incredibly excited to again be working with her friends and, of course, her sister, Mira.

(he/him) Kevin Ham is 16 and currently in his junior year. For his fourth show he is proud to bring Alfred Hallam to life in Alice by Heart. He would like to thank his peers and Mr B for giving him opportunities to improve on his abilities before he goes off to pursue theater, and believing in his ability to do his best. Kevin is glad he found his “thing” and wishes he could’ve started earlier.

(they/them) Bella is 18 and a senior. They are looking forward to this show and playing the Queen of Hearts. This is their final show at MV and they could not be prouder of the cast and crew for the work they put into it. They have been with the program for three years; and have done many, MANY shows within that time. They would like to thank all of their friends and supporters, their family, and most importantly Mr. B for believing in them all those years ago. It's bittersweet; but all things must come to an end. They are grateful to call this program— this theater; home.

(he/him) Jinghao, a junior, has done something in both theater and music at their high school. Beginning their theatrical journey as a reporter in the musical "Chicago" during sophomore year, Jinghao has continued to explore diverse roles, notably taking on the dual character of Harold Pudding and the Mad Hatter in this year's production of "Alice by Heart." In addition to the experience in theater, Jinghao is also a tenor in the school choir. Grateful for the unwavering support from family, friends, and mentors, Jinghao is excited to continue developing their skills and contributing to their school's vibrant artistic community.

(she/her) Nicole is 15 years old and is currently a junior. She's playing Cheshire cat (Tabatha) in Alice by Heart, which is her third show at MVCDS. She started her journey of musical when she was a freshman and played Madame, the Wardrobe, in Beauty and the Beast. Her favorite show was last year in Chicago as the role Roxie. She is very grateful for having this opportunity on stage again for dancing, singing, and acting, and also thankful to all the encouragements from family, friends, and teachers that support her a lot.

(he/him) Riley is a Junior and has been at MV for 15 years. He has been an active member of the theatre community for over ten years now. His favorite roles include Antonio in Twelfth Night (2023), Tilly Evans in She Kills Monsters (2022), the Young Kangaroo in Seussical (2019), and a member of the ensemble in his first ever show The King and I (2013). Riley is so excited to be a part of this incredible show with such an amazing cast.

(she/her) Mariam is 15 years old and is currently a freshman. She is beyond grateful to have the role of Agnes/Caterpillar in Alice by Heart and is extremely excited to be singing on stage once again. if you didn't know what the caterpillars mission is in Alice in wonderland lore, it is.. well you'll find out.. Anywho, Mariam has been participating in theater since the second grade. She would like to thank her father for getting her through every emotion, from when she found out her role until her final bow, her mother for giving her confidence and bravery to do her best and push herself to be the best Agnes/Caterpillar she can, and the cast for making this a positive and vibrant experience for everyone.

(she/her) Andrea Liedberg is an 18 year old senior. She’s excited to play Dodgy/Duchess in the upcoming Alice by Heart show. Earlier this year, she got back into theater playing as Tami in Twelfth Night. This time, she will play Dodgy the duchess.. She is grateful for her cast mates for all their hard work, her family for the support, and for Mr Bozanich for directing this whole thing while managing a crazy large cast. Andrea is happy that this is how she gets to finish off her final year of high school.

(he/him) Kade Ky-Leir is 15 and in his freshman year. He is very excited to be playing all his different characters. Kade would like to thank his mother for her continued support.

(she/her) Maisie is 14 years old and in eighth grade. She is so excited to be playing Clarissa in this production, and just to be in this show in general, as it is her favorite musical. This is Maisie's eighth show here at Maumee Valley, but some of her favorites have been Seussical (Bird Girl), James and The Giant Peach Jr. (Ladybug), and Twelfth Night (Fabian). Maisie would like to thank her parents who have always supported her in everything she does, her castmates for all the hard work they have put into this production, and her voice coach, Liz Baldwin, for prepping her for every audition. Maisie is so grateful to have the opportunity to perform in this show, and has enjoyed every minute of it.

(he/him) Max is 14 years old and very excited to play Nigel and dormouse. This is his third play and looks forward to more fun theatre memories in the future.

(he/him) Ethan is 18 years old and is currently a junior. He always wants to show his voice to the people by doing performances, so he actively attends the last two coffee houses. His first show was Twelfth Night, where he played captain and servant. He performed two songs in the Cabaret. He loves the theatre community very much. He believes it is a place where people are always helping others and treat each other as family. Ethan is proud of everything they made in the theatre. He also wants to thank his teacher and peers around. They bring this unique theatre experience to Ethan and help him grow a lot.

(she/her) Mattingly “MJ” Conover just celebrated her 13th birthday and is a 7th grader. MJ has played roles in Little Mermaid Jr., Beauty and the Beast, and James and the Giant Peach. She most recently participated in Twelfth Night. MJ would like to thank her mom; her mom is the reason she’s here today she wouldn’t be able to do anything without her. She would also like to think everyone in the theater program for being so kind to her and helping her along the way.

(he/him) Max is 17 years old and is currently a senior. He is very excited to be a Featured Dancer/Choreographer in the show and participating in the ensemble! He is excited to push himself further in his dancing and challenge himself with the task of making his own choreography for “Those Long Eyes.” He has also participated in the schools production of Chicago as Fred and ensemble. He would like to thank his mom and grandparents for their support, his friends who motivate him every day, and his fellow castmates for doing this production with him and for their support. Max is very excited to be a part of such an amazing show and he is grateful to Mr. B for encouraging him to participate in the theatre program, which has helped him to grow as a person and a performer.

(she/her) Zetta is a currently a senior. She is looking forward to being in Alice By Heart. Zetta has done 9 shows with the support of her family and friends. Her favorite will always be Beauty and the Beast (ensemble) but 12th night is a close second, where she played Olivia. She had found a community that she can proudly call family. Theater has become a special place in her heart bring so much joy.

(she/her) Abigail has previously been in theatre productions. This is her first production at Maumee Valley and her first musical. Abigail is thankful for the experience and everyone who helped make it happen.

(she/they) Mackenzie is a junior and is excited to be acting in Alice By Heart. Her previous roles at MVCDS include Grimsby in the Little Mermaid Jr., Little Stone in Euridice, and working backstage for Head Over Heels, Beauty and the Beast, The ClockTower Cabaret, Chicago, a Wrinkle in Time, and 12th Night. She would like to thank her family and friends for supporting her.

(she/her) Isabella is 14 years old and is lucky to work side by side with the cast and crew! This is her first year of doing theater and she is thrilled to be here. Isabella would like to thank her parents for always supporting her and her friends for encouraging her to work harder and never give up. Isabella is so excited for Alice by Heart!

(they/them) Rylan is a 3rd year theater member and a senior. In past shows they have been backstage doing costumes and helping with any tech needed so this is their first official performance. They are looking forward to their role in this show and getting to be onstage with their fellow cast members.

(he/him) Will Stierman is thrilled to work with such an awesome cast and production staff! Previous credits include James and the Giant Peach Jr. (Grasshopper), Frozen Jr. (Sven), Matilda (Nigel), Pippin (Theo), and The Music Man (Winthrop). Will is in 8th grade, and he loves animals (including his 2 dogs, 4 cats, ball python, bunny, and chickens), fishing, kayaking, and video games. Enjoy the show!

(he/they) Bee is 13 years old and is ensemble in this show. They are very proud for getting into a high school musical when they don’t sing a lot. They’ve done three other shows before, their favorite being A Wrinkle in Time, and was tech crew in the musical Chicago. He would like to thank his friend, Maisie, for getting him into theater, and his parents for the encouragement.

(she/her) Mira is 15 years old and a freshman. She is playing a Mock Turtle as well as Tweedledee, which she finds fitting because she herself is a twin. This will be her 6th show at Maumee Valley, but her favorites were A Wrinkle in Time (where she played Charles Wallace) and this one. She would like to thank her parents for driving her around all this time, her castmates for making this show awesome, and her twin sister Becca (Congratulations, Becca! I know you'll be great as Alice!). Mira is looking forward to the years to come working performing at MV.

(she/her) Ellery is 16 and is a junior. She has experience playing in an orchestra and has done piano recitals on a stage before, but this is her first time being in an actual musical. Singing and dancing are two of her favorite hobbies, which makes performing in a musical a very thrilling time for her. She thanks her parents, two older siblings, and aunt for being supportive in her journey of musical theater. She has been watching plays at MV for a little over ten years and is very excited to finally be apart of one.
