Lake Minneola High School Band and Choirs

The Lake Minneola Band Program showcases a comprehensive and dynamic music curriculum, with the Marching Green and Gold as its most visible component. This award-winning marching band combines winds, percussionists, and color guard, performing at football games, parades, and competitions, consistently earning "Superior" ratings at FBA Music Performance Assessments and achieving high placements in the FMBC circuit since 2011. The Symphonic Winds and Concert Band anchor the program's concert offerings, with the Symphonic Winds serving as the premier ensemble known for its exceptional performances. These ensembles provide students with foundational skills in tone, technique, and musical expression, blending rigorous music education with creative exploration.

The Shades of Green and Gold Jazz Bands and the color guard/winter guard round out the program with specialized focus areas. Jazz band students hone their skills in instrumental jazz, participating in both ensemble and solo performances, while color guard members integrate dance and equipment work, performing with the marching band and competing in winter guard circuits. Students benefit from comprehensive training, live performances, and summer camps, fostering a strong sense of teamwork, discipline, and civic responsibility within a supportive musical community.

The Lake Minneola Choir Program offers a robust choral curriculum with five ensembles, each designed to enhance students' musicianship, vocal skills, and performance techniques. These ensembles require commitment both inside and outside the classroom, with students participating in performances, concerts, and events. Introductory ensembles, Coro Verde for women and Vocal Corps for men, build foundational choral skills, focusing on sight-reading and repertoire that spans historical, sacred, and secular genres.  Intermezzo offers intermediate training for treble voices, building on musicianship and performance skills, and preparing them for more advanced musical study.

Bella Voce, the advanced treble ensemble, and SoLa Voce, the advanced mixed choir, provide rigorous training in vocal technique, music theory, and sight-reading. These groups, open by audition to upperclassmen, tackle sophisticated literature and are encouraged to participate in honor choirs and festivals. Each ensemble fosters a comprehensive choral experience, preparing students for further musical study and instilling a lifelong appreciation for choral performance.
