Spectrum is a virtual dance concert featuring live performance and pre-recorded works. Audiences will experience a wide variety of dance genres and concepts in this unique event. Our four performing Youth Ensemble groups dive into themes of equality, perseverance, nature, and much more. You don't want to miss it! This performance is suitable for all ages.

Our four Youth Ensemble groups are comprised of dancers in grades 4-12. Participating in Youth Ensemble involves a commitment to class and rehearsal beyond normal class expectations and is intended for dancers who wish to hone their technique and performance skills. Time commitments are composed of weekly rehearsals and some pre- scheduled weekends. Additional rehearsals may be called in preparation for performances. In addition to their weekly schedules, ensemble members will have the opportunity to work with different choreographers in a variety of dance genres, perform throughout the year at various venues in the community, attend the annual Howard County Community Dance Festival (a weekend of master classes and performances culminating in a student showcase), perform in Youth Ensemble productions in December and April, take part in an informal student choreography showcase, and have their work featured in the Kinetics Spring Showcase.

Thirty-five years in existence, Kinetics Dance Theatre is a non-profit organization dedicated to the development and presentation of contemporary dance as a living art form to the community.  KDT houses the professional Kinetics Dance Company, presenting a rich repertoire of innovative original modern dance, Kinetics School of Contemporary Dance, offering classes in dance technique and theory to students of all ages and levels, and four student performing companies providing opportunities for devoted youth to perform and participate in workshops throughout the area.  In each of its three components Kinetics demonstrate its strong commitment to the region by emphasizing community involvement through dance presentation, outreach, and education.
