On stage, he has brought to life an eclectic range of iconic roles, including Seymour in "LIttle Shop of Horrors," the Emcee in "Cabaret," Anthony in "Sweeney Todd," Ralph in "Reefer Madness," and Jesus in "Godspell." He recently got to play Brad in "The Rocky Horror Show." Casey can’t wait to share this empowering experience with such a unique and empathetic cast.
Lisa Symonds (Mimi)makes this oath to Mimi Márquez and to Jonathan Larson: Mimi Márquez is the role I have carried in my heart for years--waiting for this moment. Mimi exists in the shadows where people are judged, dismissed, or forgotten, and Jonathan Larson gave her a voice that still demands to be heard. Every breath I take as Mimi is a promise. I step into this role knowing what it asks of me, and I accept it without fear. I do not perform Mimi; I protect her. Mimi, it is my bond to guard your truth and to honor every note, every deafening silence, every scar. I promise to sing your music as a prayer--for those who were lost too quickly, loved too late, or never loved safely at all. I am honored to meet you where you live: in the candlelight that refuses to go out and in the spotlight where the girl who was often broken, reaches for the world and finally finds love. And as long as I am entrusted with you, I promise this: I will not disappoint you. I will not disappoint him. This is my vow. I dedicate this performance to my son and my husband.
Amanda Casale (Maureen)is so happy to be a part of RENT, a moooooosical she’s loved since she was a theatre muggle. Amanda graduated from Tufts University with a BS in Chemical Engineering and Mathematics, and in 2014 earned her Masters in Statistics from Harvard University. She works for MIT by day, while outside of work, she competes in CrossFit and dabbles in all things music. Though the pandemic and becoming a mom put things on pause the last few years, Amanda was an active musical theatre actress throughout the New England area between 2009 and 2019. Her last theatrical endeavours included traveling to Scotland for the 2018 Edinburgh Festival Fringe as Kate in “See Rock City & Other Destinations” and living her best life as Elle Woods in The Footlight Club's November 2019 production of “Legally Blonde: the Musical.” Now her four-year-old has stolen her heart and the spotlight, and she has focused more on taking the stage as a vocalist in various concerts and showcases when she is able. She has been in the choir for the New England Film Orchestra for six years now, and is often seen bringing musical theatre concert productions to the MIT campus as a part of MIT's Artists Beyond the Desk. Thank you to Dramatically Incorrect and this wonderful group of humans for sharing the stage with me!
