Angelisa GillyardAngelisa Gillyard is a director and choreographer based out of Washington, DC. Most recently she directed the Helen Hayes Recommended Once on This Island for Constellation Theatre Company. She also directed Wanda’s Way and Mamalogues for 1st Stage and co-directed the Helen Hayes nominated Day of Absence with Raymond O. Caldwell at Theater Alliance. Her direction and choreography have also been seen at Arena Stage, Studio Theatre, Signature Theatre, Young Playwrights’ Theater, Ally Theatre Company, In Series, Freshh Theatre Inc., University of Maryland, Montgomery College and Catholic University. Shannelle IngramShanelle D. Ingram
Ms. Shanelle Ingram is a native of Prince George’s County, MD, and was educated in the Prince George’s County Public School System where she received a diploma from Eleanor Roosevelt High School in Greenbelt, MD. Ms. Ingram furthered her education at Delaware State and Bowie State Universities where she received a Bachelor of Arts in English Education and Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology, respectively. Additionally, she has her Admin I Certification from Bowie State University. Her teaching experiences include teaching in Washington, DC Public Schools and Prince George’s County Public Schools. She is currently the Drama Teacher and Drama Director at Charles Herbert Flowers High School.

Elena VelascoElena Velasco (she/ella) is a member of Stage Directors and Choreographers Society and an assistant professor of theatre at Bowie State (directing, acting, physical theatre). Directing/choreography credits: Convergence Theatre (Founding Artistic Director), GALA Hispanic, Adventure Theatre, Keegan Theatre, Synetic Theatre, Imagination Stage, Young Playwrights’ Theater, Capital Fringe, Source Theatre, Discovery Theater, and Kennedy Center’s New Visions New Voices Festival. Kathryn KaweckiKathryn Kawecki (she/they) is a DMV area theatrical designer and artist with credits regionally and nationally. Area credits include: 1st Stage, Chesapeake Shakespeare), Flying V, Hub Theatre. Regional credits include Ballybeg Theatre, NYC, Creede Rep, CO, Elijah, Faith LOCAL, Boulder; Lyric Stage, Boston, New Rep, Boston. Stage Manager
Malaysha SabolehMalaysha Saboleh is a junior at Bowie State, majoring in Theatre with a concentration in Acting and Directing. She has been a stage manager for Flyin West, also managed Pipeline, and has acted in Before Closing Time as Georgia. She sees herself as a theatre practitioner, meaning she aspires to fulfill different positions and be immersed in the theatre world.

Keisha BrownKeisha Brown is a Junior in the Bowie State University, majoring in Theater Arts. Flyin’ West marks her first time participating in this year’s theater program, taking on the roles of assistant stage manager and stage crew. Ms. Brown is appreciative of this opportunity and is willing to partake in more productions as it prepares her for upcoming future endeavors.
Lighting Designer
Lorenzo MiguelLorenzo Miguel (he/him) is a multidisciplinary theatre artist returning to his alma mater for the first time as a guest lightning designer. Upon matriculating from Bowie State University Lorenzo joined National Players Tour 72 as an actor/assistant Master Electrician, as well as being the accommodations manager. He can be seen in Imagination Stage’s Theater for Change production “ 10 Sec “ through January 27th 2023. You can follow his journey as an artist on IG: Okzoee.

Imari PylesImari Pyles (Costume Designer/ Flyin’ West) is a DC/Baltimore emerging theatre artist. She is excited to rejoin BSU to tell this important story. Imari has always loved the language of clothing and its power to tell our stories through bold colors, textures, and lines to communicate the stories of people like herself who have been underrepresented, giving voice to women, people of color, and all groups silenced.

Cristen YoungCristen Young (lighting technician) is a junior in the Bowie State University Theatre Arts Program. This will be her first opportunity working as a member of the light crew. She is thankful to have learned so much during this experience.

Kris HarrisKristopher “Kris” Harris (he/him) is a multidisciplinary artist from Prince George’s County. Kris specializes in videography/photography, singing, dancing, and acting. Through his business “Inspire Productions”, Kris advocates for the arts by giving artists a chance to express their talents through video. Kris has had many performance dancing, singing, and acting opportunities and he’s thankful for every one of them. Kayla GrangeKayla Grange has experience in Costume Assisting for Dreamgirls and Flyin West. Kayla is a VCDMA major and a concentration in Fashion Design. She wants to use the degree to volunteer in the entertainment industry and make clothes for her brand. As Kayla builds her experience in internships she will start building her fashion portfolio to be invested in her craft. Dawn E. Belton
Dawn E. Belton is a senior theatre arts major with a concentration in acting and directing. She serves as the 76th Miss Bowie State University for 2022-2023. BSU Theatre Credits include: TopDog UnderDog and Dreamgirls. She is eager to do more in the future and is enthusiastic about being a part of this production. She dreams of becoming a producer and actor, with aspirations of attending Georgia State University Master’s program in film & production.

Bria MukesBria Mukes (she/her) is a Bowie State University theater major with a concentration of dance and movement studies. A graduate of Duke Ellington School of the Arts, she has performed in many showcases including the Kennedy Center, International Association of Blacks in Dance, Alvin Ailey Extension Program, and designed and produced her senior showcase. She performs with the BSU Collective and was recently seen in BSU’s Dreamgirls.

Rakell FoyeRakell Foye (Costume Assistant) is a multifaceted artist with experience in costume design, dancing, acting, playwriting, directing, and choreographing. She is a senior at Bowie State University majoring in Theatre Arts with a concentration in Acting and Directing. She has helped design costumes for Dreamgirls, Othello/Desdemona, and now Flying West.

Carlos CampbellCarlos Campbell is the Assistant Technical Director for Bowie State University's Fine and Performing Arts Center. Born and raised in the DC area, Carlos is excited to bring pieces of work from page to stage. Credits include Mosaic Theatre: Audio Engineer/Carpenter (Satchmo at the Waldorf; Charm; Hooded or Being Black for Dummies; Ulysses on Bottles; Paper Dolls; Vicuna an American Epilogue), Studio Theater: Lighting (If I Forget; Cry It Out; Admissions).

Kennedy Howard Kennedy Howard: (she/her) a senior communications major with a love for musicals. Kennedy was seen in BSU’s Dreamgirls and won best comedic ensemble at the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival 2022. Theatre credits: Les Miserables, Anything Goes, The Secret Garden, The Pajama Game. Tech credits: The Learned Ladies, You Can’t Take It With You, Radium Girls and Shakespeare in Hollywood. Kennedy also has done social media for Broadway Cares Equity Fights Aids and runs her own podcast.

Taylor Hawkins (they/them) is a Freshmen at Bowie State University. They were born in Capitol Heights, Maryland. They’re a music technology major. This will be their second production. Taylor wants to be a music artist/performer but loves the world of acting just as much as they do music. All forms of art intrigue them and Taylor hopes to deep their feet in everything artistic.
