Amy-Rose is delighted to direct Anna Deavere Smith’s Twilight: Los Angeles, 1992 with a fabulous ensemble from Black Swamp Players. Her directing credits include Jackie Sibblies Drury’s We Are Proud to Present a Presentation About the Herero of Namibia, Formerly Known as Southwest Africa, From the German Sudwestafrika, Between the Years 1884–1915, Suzan-Lori Parks’s Venus, Wole Soyinka’s The Bacchae of Euripides: A Communion Rite, Francisco Arriví’s Vejigantes (Devil Mask), and Dennis Scott’s An Echo in the Bone. Amy-Rose is the founder and artistic director for the Pan-African Theatre Ensemble (PATE) dedicated to the research and production of theatres in the African continuum – African, African American, Latin American and Caribbean theatres. The PATE performed at the Fringe Theatre Festival in Edinburgh, Scotland, summer 2019 to rave reviews. She is an Assistant Professor of Theatre and Performance Studies at Bowling Green State University. Special thanks to her husband, “Lar” (Larry), and daughter, Kristina for their unwavering support and a contagious sense of humor. Larry, Kristina, and Amy-Rose have two Russian Blue cats with fancy “bling” collars who enjoy outside walks, birdwatching, and chasing squirrels. Enjoy the show!
