Twilight: Los Angeles, 1992 Cast

Ensemble Member 1 (Steve Bishop)
Steve Bishop was born just north of the muddy Maumee river, and was raised within walking distance of its southern shore. The first time he found himself on a Bowling Green stage was in a production of David Mamet's Glengarry Glen Ross, the most recent was as uncle Charlie Aiken in the BSP production of August: Osage County. Steve is stoked to be a part of this ensemble that gets to present such a powerful “American masterpiece” of “documentary theatre”. When not politely fending off the zeitgeist with all his might Steve indulges many joys, among them: a good night's rest, a fine cup of coffee, a nice walkabout; also, stretching metaphor, with hyperbole, into new forms, and words, like: hyperphor, or metabole. As the future is unknowable Steve hopes you enjoy your time at the show; as well as in the general day to day of it all.
Ensemble Member 2 (Isabel Contreras)
Isabel is excited to be a part of a talented ensemble for the Black Swamp Players. Isabel’s previous credit includes: The Jester in Once Upon a Mattress (Brookside High School). She has also handled the responsibilities of the deck crew for the opera: Orpheus in the Underworld (BGSU). Isabel is a sophomore at Bowling Green State University as a Theatre major and specializing in acting/directing. Outside of acting, Isabel also plays guitar, saxophone, and trombone as well as sing. In her spare time, Isabel writes her own music, skateboards, volunteers for local community services, and collects vinyl records.

Heath is thrilled to return to the BSP stage among such a talented ensemble. Previous acting credits include: George in It Shoulda Been You (BSP); Herb in I Ought To Be In Pictures (BSP); Edward in Psych (BSP); Mr. Boddy in Clue: The Musical (BSP); and Father Thane in A Perfect Wedding (BGSU). Heath also enjoys directing; credits include: August: Osage County (BSP); The Guys (TBD Productions); The Drowsy Chaperone (BSP); Gidion’s Knot (TBD Productions); A Mouth to Feed (Toledo Rep); and The Odd Couple (Female Version) (BSP). When not treading the boards, Heath is active in the community. In his professional life, Heath is Teaching Professor in the Honors College at BGSU. And in his spare time, Heath enjoys spending time with his husband, Gary, and their clowder of seven rescue cats.
Ensemble Member 4 (Pella Felten)
Pella Felton is cautiously optimistic to return to the stage for the first time in over 5 years. Before appearing in this production, Pella appeared in over 40 productions in her native Charleston, West Virginia. Previous credits include Babes In Toyland (1994) (Children’s Theatre of Charleston), Mame (1995) (Charleston Light Opera Guild), The Importance of Being Earnest (2004)(Angevin Players), Alice In Wonderland (Charleston Stage Company)(2005), Jesus Christ Superstar (2012) (Contemporary Youth Arts Company), and Proof (2012) (Alban Arts Center). In addition to acting, she has also directed three full-length productions: The Birthday Party (2005) (West Virginia State University), A Delicate Balance (2013), and The Importance of Being Earnest (2017). Pella is also an accomplished comedian, podcaster and poet who has performed her poems about birds all over the United States. Pella is a Phd Student at Bowling Green State University in the department of Theatre and Film When not appearing in this show Pella spends most her time procrastinating when she very much should be writing her dissertation instead of galavanting around with a bunch of actors. But she’s also grateful to participate in such an important production and help contribute to the public good. Tonight is the first time she’s seen her true name in a theatre program.
Ensemble Member 5 (Monica Hiris)
Monica Hiris was mostly recently seen as The Prophet in Owens Community College’s production of Fission, as Violet in the Black Swamp Players production of August: Osage County and as Joan in TBD’s production of The Guys. She recently completed an advanced certificate in acting at the Michigan Actors Studio in Metro Detroit. She can be seen walking all over Bowling Green, talking to herself as she works on her lines while logging the needed miles to prepare for a hiking trip in the mountains of Iceland later this year.
Ensemble Member 6 (Ebere Okoro)
Ebere is very excited to be a part of this production of Twilight! As a black woman, being able to learn about and portray the many different people who experienced the LA riots is very important to her! But, this isn’t her first show with Black Swamp Players! She previously played Sylvie in BSP’s production of The Odd Couple as well as Annie Shepard in It Should Been You! Ebere believes this show is very special and it is an honor she gets to be a part of it!
Ensemble Member 7 (Leah Truman)
Leah Truman originally hails from the hills of Southern Ohio, but has been in this area for 19 years! Leah is excited to be performing on the BSP stage for a 5th time. You may have seen her as Scraps in Talking With, Trix in The Drowsy Chaperone, or Minaret Towers in Murder at the Pie Auction. Leah has also served on the Black Swamp Players Board for the past two years and has enjoyed helping establish their new home in the community! When she isn't working or acting, she loves spending time with her husband Andrew and their two fur kids, Frankie and Big Lou, a good board game, playing her trumpet or sharing new recipes with friends! Leah would like to thank her husband for his never-ending support in her artistic endeavors.
Ensemble Member 8 (Deb Weiser)
Deb Weiser got the role of Clairee in Waterville Playshop's Steel Magnolias on her first audition ever, at age 49. Since then, she has been cast in Talking With, The Odd Couple (Female Version), Dearly Departed, The Mousetrap, The Shadow Box, and more. Deb serves on the board of the Black Swamp Players; she also works on marketing and music hospitality for the Black Swamp Arts Festival. Retired from both BGSU and 13abc, Deb enjoys life in rural Wood County with her husband Chip Hutchings, whom she thanks for his on-going support of everything she does. Her two children live in Los Angeles, providing a great escape from NW Ohio's winters.
