Be Here Now Cast
Cindy Bilby (Bari)Cindy has been performing throughout northwest Ohio (and on one occasion, southwest Michigan) for the past 20 years. She has done everything from Ginger in Gilligan's Island the Musical to Elizabeth Proctor in The Crucible. Favorite roles include Juliana in The Other Place and Weezy the goat in Alabaster. This is her first occasion to perform with Black Swamp; and as always, she thanks her husband Chuck Bergman for his love and support not only of her but the entire theatre community.
Karen Noble (Patty Cooper)Karen is excited and honored to return to the BSP stage. She has most recently been seen as Ethel Banks in Oregon Community Theater’s production of Barefoot in the Park. Other favorite roles have been Katrin in I Remember Mama, Effie Krayneck in The Spitfire Grill, Mattie Fae Aiken in August: Osage County , and Grace in Bus Stop. She recently retired after teaching elementary school for 34 years at Eastwood Schools and sings with the International Award winning Scioto Valley Chorus of Sweet Adeline’s International. She would like to thank her family (Nora and Kristin) and friends for their continued support and encouragement. Karen is grateful and humbled to have the opportunity to work with this very talented director, cast, and crew.
Kylie Schmehl (Luanne Cooper)Kylie Schmehl is very excited to be playing Luanne in Be Here Now! Kylie is a fourth year at Bowling Green State University studying Adolescent to Young Adults: Integrated Language Arts, she hopes to become a drama teacher. This is Kylie’s fourth show with the Black Swamp Players, her priors being: August: Osage County (Jean Fordham), The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time (Christopher Boone - week 1) and Puffs (Leanne). Kylie is terribly sad to be saying farewell to the BSP community as she plans to move back to Michigan to pursue teaching near her hometown but she is grateful for all the memories and opportunities that they have given her. She especially wants to shoutout her August family, her friends, and her family for attending all her shows and supporting her love of the performing arts.
Brad Smith (Mike Cooper)Brad Smith (Mike Cooper) is excited to be making his first appearance with BSP! He most recently performed at the Village Players Theatre in Love Letters, under the expert hand of director Nancy Wright, while teamed again with the great Cindy Bilby.
Brad has spent the majority of his stage time at the Toledo Repertoire Theatre, where some of his favorite roles include the title character in Tartuffe, Leo/Maxine in Leading Ladies, and Brick in Cat on a Hot Tin Roof. He thanks his wife, Anita Crane, for being the best partner a person could ask for.
Hubble (The Crow)Hubble enjoys attention, especially applause, and hopes that this role will help humans understand how brilliant and adaptable crows are. Impressed with your golden retriever or Siamese cat? Please. Can they do math? Or build their own homes? Or accrue shiny objects that may have monetary value? Special thanks to Mike Cooper not only for saving Hubble from those nasty children with their BB guns, but also for offering her a quiet life so she can focus on problem-solving. Bari’s wrong, by the way, when she says crows can’t contemplate their own existence. Hubble looks forward to being here now and for a long time to come: The longevity record for an indoor crow is 59 years. Caw!
