Director
Fran Martone
Since returning to Toledo a few years ago, Fran has performed in diverse roles (Marjorie in Marjorie Prime, Ethel in On Golden Pond with Black Swamp Players, Alice in Elective Affinities, Anne Marie in A Doll’s House Part 2 with ACT, Abby in Ripcord with Toledo Rep., Patty in Walter Cronkite is Dead, Rose in The Children with The Village Players). Fran has inadvertently developed a niche as a director, working with talking goats in ACT’s Alabaster, talking lizards in The Village Players’ Seascape, a talking sandwich in Toledo Rep and ACT’s American Hero and now a talking mastiff and a talking moorhen Black Swamp’s The Moors. Fran has an MFA in acting from DePaul University and is a member of SAG/Aftra. She has appeared in film and television with the likes of Aaron Paul, Martin Landau and Seth Rogan. Many a decade ago, bouts teenage angst often went hand-in-hand with a (re)reading of Bronte’s Jane Eyre. Fran is delighted to be directing Jen Silverman’s reinvention of what it takes to find oneself on the savage moors.
