About The Outsiders
The Outsiders play, based on S.E. Hinton’s iconic 1967 novel and adapted for the stage, follows 14-year-old Ponyboy Curtis and his "Greaser" family in 1960s Oklahoma. It captures their brutal, emotional rivalry with the wealthy "Socs," exploring themes of class conflict, lost innocence, brotherhood, and finding hope.
Andrean Theatre Co.
The Andrean Theatre Company is a fantabulous group of Andrean students coming together to entertain the masses (and each other=). Not only do these kids love to entertain, they love ALL things theatre.
“The Outsiders” was chosen because the cast and crew read it in either seventh or eighth grade and the characters, plot, and message stayed with them. A few of the Theatre members love the show so much, they dressed up as the cast for Halloween (also to convince the director that this was to be our Spring Show;). They are also relishing in the opportunity to show off their ability to act dramatically and help direct.
When you are a part of Andrean Theatre Company, there is something for everyone who finds joy in the makings of a live performance- we have actors, actresses, stage crew, build team, lighting and sound crew, make-up and hair team, choreographers, singers, and more! Our Company performs two shows a year-the straight play as well as the musical. We are thrilled to have been able to show off our talent and skill set at the Educational Theatre Association Indiana State Conference Competition in January 2026 in Avon, Indiana. We cannot wait for another opportunity to show off and earn some Best in Show awards at next year's competition!
Once you are a part of Andrean Theatre Company-it never leaves you.
Thank you for your continued support of our program and we hope you enjoy our shows! “STAY GOLD!”
