Andrean's Thespian Troupe #8002 celebrates their Regional accomplishment at IU Kokomo

On November 20th, our cast and crew of our fall musical “You're A Good Man Charlie Brown" drove down to Kokomo, Indiana to compete with their show at one of the four regional competitions in the state. The event showcased six shows from six different high schools, offered many different theatre-oriented educational workshops, and ultimately determined which of the schools would have the opportunity to win awards and move on to the state competition level. The cast and crew had a blast performing for more than 200 people and were beyond excited to learn that their performance had ranked 2nd overall and that their musical would advance to state! In addition to their impressive overall ranking, there were several other awards given: our cast was awarded “Best Ensemble” in our regionals, Eileen Shea and Bri Loza were awarded Thespian All-Star awards for their amazing set design, and one of our Thespian Officers, Zoe Irving, was awarded “Best Supporting Actress” in our regionals! Congratulations to all our individual award winners! The state competition will take place January 21st-23rd in an exciting theatre-filled weekend where our incredible cast will perform for over 2,000 people at Indiana Wesleyan University! Make sure to wish them all lots of leg-breaking as they compete at the state level in hopes of advancing on to the International Thespian Competition!

Charlie Brown Goes on Tour!

The cast and crew of “You're A Good Man Charlie Brown” pose for a Covid safe photo after performing their competition show at Saint Paul Catholic School

The cast and crew of “You're A Good Man Charlie Brown” were given the opportunity to take their show on tour! The Troupe packed up their supplies and traveled to two Catholic grade schools in Northwest Indiana; Saint Paul Catholic School in Valparaiso and Aquinas Catholic School in Merrillville. Andrean's Theatre Company first visited St. Paul on a Friday morning and performed twice for the entire school. Students and teachers loved the show and were excited to see St. Paul alumni Zoe Irving (senior), Josh West (senior), and Meg Moberley (freshmen). “It was good and I had so much fun! I was so excited to see my sister and I got to show all my friends that she was Lucy! The show was funny and I liked that I got to take a break from school to see the show and give Zoe a hug!” says Isaac Irving a kindergartener at St. Paul who was excited to learn that his sister would be coming to his school to sing and dance for the students! Their most recent stop on the tour was Aquinas Catholic School where they performed the show on Aquinas' stage for the whole school to see! Students and faculty were excited to see this hilarious musical hit and catch up with a couple of their alumni; Stephen Grata (sophomore) and Kaden Ford (sophomore). “I felt like it was a very good play. It was funny, entertaining, musical, and all-around a great play!” says Janai Walker, a sixth-grader at Aquinas, who had a blast watching the cast perform!
