For nearly 80 years, our supporters have kept the Town Players of New Canaan at the heart of our community’s cultural life. For more than four decades, audiences have gathered at the Powerhouse Performing Arts Center in Waveny Park—a true hidden gem—to share in the joy of live theatre.

Now, we’re ready to begin our next act ! We invite you to be part of it.

We’re embarking on an exciting new project: the creation of a state-of-the-art Theatre Arts Education Center right here on the Powerhouse campus. This addition will allow us to expand theatre education and programming for children, teens, and adults alike—fostering creativity, confidence, and connection for generations to come.

Don’t worry—our beloved 115-seat Powerhouse Theatre will remain exactly as it is: the intimate, welcoming space we all know and love, with maybe just a few improvements!

Here’s what’s coming:
🎭 A new Theatre Arts Education Center for multi-generational, multi-discipline theatre classes—with beautiful views of the sledding hill and Anderson Pond (replacing the current storage annex).
🏛️ A new glass-fronted entrance and lobby with twice the gathering space—honoring the Powerhouse’s historic character while enhancing the experience for all - and new ADA-accessible restrooms.
🌿 A welcoming, fully accessible courtyard, open to everyone who visits.
