About Face Calm by Wes Chick

Pat knows he is physically disabled, autistic, and, in reality, nonverbal. Yet he takes us on a journey where he narrates, writes dialogue, gives asides to the audience, and  replays scenes in his imagination. He even plays the part of his own Doctor. Throughout the play his parents and therapist (the reality around him) attempt to communicate with him. First through "Facilitated Communication" then through "Augmentative and Assistive Communication". Whether or not anyone is actually communicating is always in question.
