JAM + BREAD About JAM + BREAD In late autumn of 2021, New Canaan residents Paul Tully and Johnny Reid met with the Powerhouse’s president Deborah Burke and pitched her the idea of dusting off Johnny Reid’s JAM + BREAD Presents brand to produce live music shows in the theater. Several years back, in association with the New Canaan Music Store, Mr. Reid produced a successful outdoor show downtown with the legendary guitarist G.E. Smith. Mr. Reid has no shortage of experience when it comes to live music, producing dozens of videos and live shows through his company JRNY Entertainment (Journey) www.jrny.tv with artists such as Sting, The Allman Brothers Band, and Phish. Mr. Tully, through his Imian Partners www.imianpartners.com is a successful owner-operator of hospitality establishments that include hometown favorite Tequila Mockingbird, as well as large outdoor beer gardens located in Wilmington, DE., Philadelphia, PA., and Stamford, CT. The three of them plan to breathe new life into the historical theater by presenting some exciting and entertaining LIVE music shows.

Deborah is currently the President of Town Players of New Canaan. It’s been her desire to increase awareness of the Powerhouse Theatre by expanding the offerings to include: more theatrical educational programs, unique special events, new playwright workshops, bringing music back with concerts and musicals, establish a year-round kids program… all while still maintaining the core five mainstage productions per season. To accomplish all this, Town Players of New Canaan has been working with the Town of New Canaan to get the approvals to double the size of our current lobby, add new ADA compliant restrooms, and hopefully add the intimate Shed Theatre on our “campus” to have the space to actually become the Powerhouse Performing Arts Center… as our original 1983 sign reads. She is also a local Actress, Director, Producer, Set Decorator, Costumer, Prop person, Acting coach, and in her spare time, runs Antiquedress.com - selling high-end antique, vintage, and celebrity-worn garments.
