Live at the Powerhouse Performers

Singer/Songwriter (Reid Parsons)
Singer/Songwriter (Reid Parsons) Take one spin through any of the multitude of original tunes Reid Parsons has written, and it’s clear that this young woman has something to say. Like the genuine artist, she is, Reid is more than comfortable and at ease with her poetic lyrics and music. As the GRAMMY™ winning music director for Lady A (formerly Lady Antebellum) Jonathan Long states so aptly, “Reid has such a smooth voice. It’s unique and beautiful, with such a cool Americana vibe”. And the GRAMMY™ winning producer/musician Larry Campbell (Bob Dylan’s guitar player for 13 years) said “I’ve been listening to her EP disc and man, it’s fantastic! Real talent there.” Her genuine appreciation for music shines through on all of the instruments she picks up and plays which include guitar, ukulele, saxophone, bagpipes and piano. After earning a degree in Music and a minor in Anthropology from Harvard University, she headed back to her rural roots and home state of Vermont, and now makes Burlington her home-base. Shortly after her return to the Green Mountain state, Reid won a songwriting contest and part of the prize was free studio time, so she produced a five (5) song EP which quickly garnered critical acclaim. Seven Days Newspaper said “Reid Parsons has a warm spirit. Even though her tunes touch on hardships and dark times, they impart a sense of hope that’s lately in short supply.” And the on-line music site County Tracks named her disc one of the best of the year saying that her original tune Charlie “was like a harrowing short story that packs years of a troubled child’s life in under four minutes. Parson’s doesn’t waste a word, with poetry worthy of Townes Van Zandt.” Reid has shared the stage with numerous national touring artists including GRAMMY™ nominated Cedric Burnside and The Peterson Brothers Band, and has performed extensively in her home state of Vermont, and all across New England. In the summer of 2021 Reid had a major festival appearance at Montana’s largest outdoor music festival, The Red Ants Pants Fest. It is apparent that Reid Parson’s musical journey has just begun. http://reidreidreid.com/
