Director, Co-producer, Sound design, CostumesLaura Berkemeier
Laura returns to the directing seat after a hiatus of a couple years thanks to COVID-19. Her previous MPI directing credits include More Fun Than Bowling (another Stephen Dietz show) Star-spangled Girl and The Glass Menagerie. She can also be seen on stage occasionally. She’s excited to get to work with her husband, Jay Gossett, on another production and thanks him for being not only an excellent actor but also her co-producer for this show (and in life). And special things to all friends and family who have helped to make this production a reality.
Stage manager, CostumesMolly Barresi
Molly is excited to be back at Mariemont Players after five years away from the theater. This is her fourth show with MPI after stage managing The Glass Menagerie and The Complete Works of William Shakespeare Abridged and appearing as Elma in Bus Stop. Other production crew credits include The Odd Couple, Les Misérables, Lord of the Flies, and Annie. She would like to thank Laura for once again allowing her to be a part of another beautiful show.
Set Design/DecorDan Dermody
Dan has been involved with Community Theater since 1992 as a scenic designer for several community theater groups in the Greater Cincinnati area. Dan was the recipient of the Mario Pitocco Award in 2006 from ACT Cincinnati. He has served on the board of directors for Mariemont Players in several capacities, including board president. Dan has also twice been an “Acclaim” award winner for set design. Currently he is owner of Dermody Design Group, a construction management, space planning & design company specializing in design/build projects for residential and commercial projects.
Connie enjoys theater and working with her director daughter, son-in-law, Jay, and this phenomenal cast. This is her fifth show with Mariemont Players. Previous shows include: The Glass Menagerie, Radium Girls, Star-Spangled Girl, and More Fun than Bowling. Connie is a retired Paralegal who has become a professional collage/mosaic artist using upcycled paper product. Finding props for current timeframe has its challenges but hoping everything has purpose! Great cast, phenomenal show!
Lighting DesignChuck Ingram
Chuck returns to light his second of three shows this season - Harvey, This Random World and The Gods of Comedy. When Chuck is not working behind the scenes he loves being on stage. He was a part of the wonderful award-winning cast of The Outsider who represented Mariemont Players at the State level on Labor Day weekend! Only one of three community theater groups to do so from this area. Chuck was Ned Newley in The Outsider and has also been on stage for Evelyn in Purgatory portraying gym teacher Fred DiSalvo.
Master CarpenterBill Pauly
Bill Pauly is in his 46th production over ten seasons building sets for MPI. With fellow carpenters Tim Carney and Fred Murrell, he finds it a joy building each set with its unique design and challenges. Bill has received many awards for his work including MPI's President Award and the Elston Hurst Award, and 16 Orchard Awards from ACT. He wants to thank MPI, the patrons, his fellow builders, and his wife for the opportunity to fulfill his passion for creating the excitement that these sets produce.
Light & Sound ExecutionAimée Ward
Aimée (she/her) is excited to be back on the Mariemont light and sound board, having done so for a number of past shows including Last Night at Ballyhoo. When not playing button monkey, she enjoys being on stage. You might remember her as Ada in Ada and the Engine and Myrtle Mae in Harvey. She also serves on the board. Aimée is a Montessori teacher at Cincinnati Country Day School and a graduate student of the School of Education at Xavier University. She also enjoys Netflix binge-watching, playing D&D and going to the zoo. She'd like to thank the cast & crew, the best family in the world (hers) and, of course, Taylor Swift.
Light & Sound ExecutionKieran Shlueter
This is Kieran's first show with Mariemont Players after manning the sound board at ESP’s 2022 productions of Matilda and Shrek. When not doing theatre, Kieran enjoys spending time with her husband and 2 dogs, playing board games, reading, and trying new international food restaurants. She lives in Western Hills and works as a Social Worker at Mount Notre Dame Health Center.
