Director
Emyl NunezEmyl Nunez, is poised to make her debut with a complete work at the City College of New York. While this marks her first foray into directing a full production, she is not a newcomer to the director's chair, having previously showcased her skills in smaller productions during the One Act Play Festival at City College. Her passion for directing was ignited during her time in Directing I, a course where she received guidance from the Chan Harris. His supportive mentorship not only honed her skills but also instilled in her the confidence to take on more significant projects.
Now, under the mentorship of Bridget Kelso, she is thrilled to bring the work of the esteemed playwright Nilo Cruz to life with Night Train To Bolina. As a storyteller making the transition to directing, she is eager to explore and share her unique perspective on stage.
In expressing her gratitude, she extends a warm thank you to the cast members who have entrusted her with their time and talent. Recognizing their commitment, she values their collaboration in bringing the characters to life. She also acknowledges the invaluable contributions of the crew members and designers who, despite her relative newness to directing, have worked tirelessly to bring her vision to fruition. Their expertise and dedication have been crucial in shaping the production. Throughout this journey, she is especially appreciative of her colleague and dear friend, Alexander Henry, for his support and organizational skills that have proven essential as she takes on this exciting new challenge. Lastly, she would like to express heartfelt appreciation to her family, whose unwavering support has been a driving force behind her pursuit of her creative dreams.
With genuine enthusiasm and a humble spirit, Emyl Nunez looks forward to the unfolding of Night Train To Bolina, expressing gratitude to all who have played a role in bringing this fresh directorial vision to the stage.
Assistant Director
Jeniece BrownJeniece Brown is a senior at City Collège studying Theatre. She is currently Assistant Director, looking forward to working under the tutelage of Emyl Nunez and Bridget Kelso Anthony. Some of Jeniece's resume credits include stage managing for CCNY'S 2023 production of a Midsummer Nights Dream and staring at Cynthia in the 2022 Fall production of Sweat. She is excited to be apart of such an amazing cast and crew and hopes this experience will shape her future endeavors.
Lighting Designer
Leslie MoralesLeslie Morales is a passionate Latina playwright and designer currently in her junior year, majoring in theater at the City College of New York. At CCNY, she has previously worked as a set designer for the production of "Miss Julie." and the stage manager for “Ooze Monster” . She was a proud member of B'DAT (Beacon Drama Arts and Theatre), where she was actively involved as a thespian, actress, playwright, and designer; playing roles such as Poncia in Federico Lorca’s “Casa de Bernarda Alba'' and writing a scene for B’DAT’s “Comedia at the Park”. Looking forward, she is excited about stepping into the role of lighting designer for the first time and exploring the technical side of theater.
Costume Designer
Celeste AbramowitzCeleste Latorre Abramowitz is a Puerto Rican Actress and first time Costume Designer who was a Theatre major at Queensborough Community College and now continues at City College. In 2019 she was nominated for an Irene Ryan at The Kennedy center American College Theater festival. She has also starred in many other plays and musicals like Neighborhood 3 Requisition of Doom , Runaways, Far away , The Taming!!!, Bat Boy , Two Gentleman of Verona and many more. She is looking to further her career and take it to Broadway and film ! Celeste is grateful and thankful for all the opportunities of learning and being able to execute it in her craft!
Set Designer
Anthony PalomequeAnthony Palomeque is a student at City College, pursuing a major in theater with a minor in philosophy and history. He is currently a set designer for the production of Night Train to Bolina. Anthony is always looking for ways to be involved in the theater scene at school, whether it be on stage or behind the scenes. He was the secretary in The Runner Stumbles, as well as the light board operator for I Am Not King Lear and Two Gentlemen of Verona. He will soon graduate this current Spring semester and is excited for new opportunities continuing forward.
Sound Designer
Jonan PerezJonan Perez is a Brooklyn-born undergraduate student majoring in Theatre at City College. Following his directorial debut in the 2023 One Act Play Festival and crew as the Sound Board Operator for Sloppy Firsts, he continues to explore his role in theatre as he takes on sound design for Night Train To Bolina.
Production Stage Manager
Alexander HenryAlexander Henry (Alex) started their adventure in 2022 as a transfer student at City College. Becoming invested in returning to the spotlight they ventured to the theater department and did a successful run as a Fabulous fairy in Chan Harris's rendition of Shakespeare's Midsummer Night's Dream, most recently Daisy Duarte’s rendition of Sloppy First as Brandi and the one acts. After Assistant Stage Managing, this is their first time acting as Stage Manager for a production and they are more than excited to venture into this new adventure and learn from it. They aspire to be on stage and show their true colors with full confidence and making others feel their love and emotions through their performances. They have a true love for doing k-pop cover videos and enveloping themselves in the culture while also making sure to always have a smile on their face.
Assistant Stage Manager
Jewel CarrollJewel Carroll is an aspiring entertainer currently enrolled at CCNY. She majors in Business Management and Administration and minors in Theater. She enjoys singing, playing video games, and learning new languages. She had a supporting role in the original production of Romeo and Juliet: Techno Love held at the NYC Student Shakespeare Festival and was the ASM for Lynn Nottage's "Intimate Apparel" directed by Bridget Kelso Anthony.
Assistant Stage Manager
Gyandro MarseliaGyandro Marselia, also known as Gyo, is a creative from the beautiful Caribbean Island of Curaçao. He is very excited and grateful to be a part of the crew for Night Train to Bolina as an assistant stage manager.
As Gyo moved to the United States to pursue an education in arts, he performed with Genesee Community College’s forum players as Fortunato in Edgar Allan Poe Afterlife Radio show, the White Rabbit in Alice in Wonderland and Valère in Tartuffe, also receiving an excellence in performance award. Gyo was also the understudy for George and Marks in Intimate Apparel. His passion for history, culture and the arts were quite evident is his proactive participation in multiple cultural events, local and international poetry contests, acting for local tv-series, and even as a playwright and director for original shows during his high school years, back on the pearl in the Caribbean he proudly calls home. He certainly wants to thank his family and friends back home for their support and for always believing in his wildest dreams. The best is yet to come.
Faculty Mentor
Bridget Kelso AnthonyBridget Kelso Anthony is a full-time Lecturer in the Theatre and Speech Department. Hailing from the South side of Chicago, Bridget is an actor, playwright, and director. She has a BA in Theatre from Marymount College and an MA from New York University's Gallatin School of Individualized Study in Playwriting and Performance.
She has an extensive background in educational theatre practices and over twenty years of experience as a working actor. She has performed in major theaters in NYC, and was a member of the Emerging Playwrights Group at the Public Theater. She lives in the Bronx, and is the proud mother of her Howard University freshman son Mikai.
