Writer/Director/Sound Design
Blake Hogue
Blake is That Theatre's executive director and is very excited about all the hard work coming together for our first full season! Blake has a BFA in Acting from U of M Duluth and lived in Los Angeles for over a decade, where he shot various commercials and TV shows, and studied, performed, and taught improv and sketch comedy. Locally, he's performed with That Theatre, The Rochester Civic Theatre, The RochesterRep, Absolute, Wit's End, Yelllow Tree Theatre, and Paul Bunyan Playhouse and directs, writes, and teaches at That Theatre (and previously The Rochester Rep). He's thankful to his appreciative fiance Suz, her two kids, and their dog Phyllis for all the support and patience while he sits in his basement laundry room office working on plays.
Stage Manager/Prop Master
Pam Allan
Pam has been volunteering for local theatre productions since she moved to Rochester in 1988. Before COVID-19 shut theatre performances down, she was the Stage Manager and Prop Master for The Rainmaker with That Theatre Company. She is excited to be stage managing again and working with such a great artistic team and cast. She has mostly worked on musicals, so it is a treat to be able to work on a non-musical show now and then. When not volunteering in the theatre world, she also volunteers for Paws and Claws Humane Society. During the day she works as a Senior Business Analyst at Mayo Clinic.
Set Design/Build
Jake Ryan
Jake has been designing and building sets for years around southeastern Minnesota. As a founding member, he most recently assisted with set design and build for Jeff on the Shelf. Pre-pandemic Jake served as the Technical Director at Century High School while also helping with set design at The Rochester Rep and Kasson-Mantorville Schools. In addition to building and acting, Jake is a brewer by trade, currently working at Forager Brewery in town.
Light Design
Denise Ruemping
Denise is an active theatre artist, working in many capacities within the medium – acting, directing, teaching, writing, scenic design, lighting design, and more. She previously designed lighting for That Theatre Company’s production of Rainmaker and has designed lighting for other productions, such as Mantorville Theatre Company’s Assassins, Little Shop of Horrors, and Nevermore: The Imaginary Life and Mysterious Death of Edgar Allen Poe. Denise is excited to be working with That Theatre Company again and all the amazing individuals who have dedicated their time and talent to this production.
Set Design/Build
Brett Conrad
Brett is excited to be designing after the long COVID hiatus. Since graduating in 2015, he has worked on nearly 40 shows with various arts organizations in the region. He is one of the founding members of THAT Theatre Company. He would like to thank his family, Kayley and Theodore, the cast, and you (yeah – YOU – anonymous audience member!) for the support.
