Ben Layman (The Actor)
Ben Layman (The Actor) is a native of Maine and a proud member of TBT. Ben is a full time employee of The Penobscot Theatre Company in Bangor. Previously as an actor for TBT, Ben has been seen in productions of Hamlet, The Nerd, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Rabbit Hole, Blithe Spirit, The Merry Wives of Windsor, Romeo and Juliet, The Comedy of Errors, and The Tempest. As a director for the company he has helmed productions of Julius Caesar, Macbeth, Dracula, The Complete Works of William Shakespeare Abridged, Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?, The Sunshine Boys, Shuddersome: Tales of Poe, The importance of Being Earnest, The Turn of Screw, and The Diary of Anne Frank. Ben is thrilled to take part in this classic ghost story, just in time for Christmas Eve. Happy Holiday to all!
Patty Morris (Kipps)
Howdy! My name is Patty Morris I’m a 4th year studying history with a concentration in military history at the University of Maine. This is my 3rd show with Ten Bucks Theatre. Recently I was involved with the University of Maine’s production of Rabbit Hole where I got to play Howie, and over this past summer I made my debut in Shakespeare under the stars in the show Much Ado About Nothing as Benedick! I’ve also performed with the University Maine in “Everybody” by Brandon Jacobs-Jenkins, also i was involved with Ten Bucks Theaters show called “The Secret Garden”. I’ve performed with the University Maine in a show called Tartuffe by Molière as Valeré, and was in Terra Nova as Edgar Evans! Lastly I want to give a big thank you to the cast, crew, directors for giving me this opportunity, and a special thanks to and my Girlfriend Nina, and everyone who has helped me grow as an artist. Without y’all there is no theatre!
Katie Brayson (The Woman in Black)
Katie Brayson is excited to be part of the spooks! This is Katie’s fourth production with Ten Bucks Theatre Company: others being As You Like It, where she assistant stage managed/understudied for Phebe, Romeo and Juliet, where she played Juliet, and Much Ado About Nothing, where she played Beatrice. Katie is a UMaine student, studying Theater, English, and Education. Some of her previous roles include UMaine shows: #14 in The Wolves, Viola in Twelfth Night, Serza in Anon(ymous), Katherine Howard in Six Dead Queens and an Inflatable Henry, and Elmire in Tartuffe. She would like to thank the cast and crew for putting so much hard work into this production, and her family for the unwavering support.
Micah Valliere (The Priest/Props)
Micah is a member of Ten Bucks Theatre—and holds a BA in English and Medieval Studies from the University of Maine and has studied at the Shakespeare Institute in Stratford-upon-Avon. Micah has previously appeared in with Ten Bucks in The Secret Garden (Dickon), Shuddersome: Tales of Poe (various roles), and Romeo & Juliet (Balthasar), and in the University of Maine’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Theseus).
Joe Fisher (Director)
Joe Fisher (Director) returned to community theatre in 2019 after a long hiatus. He is delighted to be part of the Company and board of Ten Bucks Theater. He has performed with Ten Bucks Theater, True North Theater, Winterport Open Stage, Raymond Arts, and the Exeter Players. *The Woman in Black* is the first show he has directed for TBT.
Caitlin Hession (Stage Crew)
Caitlin Hession has loved acting since the first time she ever experienced it in first grade. Since then, she has been in as many performances as she could be, growing up with Penobscot Theatre's Dramatic Academy program and going off to perform in college and beyond. Caitlin is beyond excited to continue working with Ten Bucks Theatre. Previously, she has been in Much Ado About Nothing as Borachio, Little Women as an ensemble member, Romeo and Juliet twice as the Nurse and Abraham/Lady Montague, Shuddersome: Tales of Poe as an ensemble member, and The Secret Garden as Ms. Medlock. When not acting, Caitlin works as a high school English teacher, spreading her love of Shakespeare to many an unenthusiastic teen.
Elliott Wilcox (Set/Lights)
Deanna Rice (Stage Manager/Producer)
Deanna Rice has performed in plays and musicals since her early days as nursery rhyme characters in her Kindergarten play. Yes, there are videos. No, you may not see them. In following years she played Duffy in Annie, and was part of the ensemble in Guys and Dolls, Godspell, Annie Get Your Gun and Oliver!, all while performing with the Presque Isle Community Players. Shows with TBT have included: a reader in Inside Man, various characters in Shuddersome: Tales of Poe, and the Nurse in Romeo and Juliet. She made her directorial debut earlier this year with TBT's The Secret Garden. She currently serves as the Secretary and Member's Director for Ten Bucks. She hopes you enjoy the show!
