About Peter and the Starcatcher

Based on the novel by Dave Barry and Ridley Pearson, Peter and the Starcatcher follows young Molly Aster and her mission to assist her father in keeping the mysterious secret of Starstuff safe from the rest of the world. On her voyage, she befriends a ragtag group of orphans, one of which hates grownups and just wants to stay a boy for a while. But when a crew of fearsome and moustached pirates attack, Molly and her new friends must work together to keep the Starstuff out of the hands of the greedy marauders-- as well as survive being shipwrecked on an island inhabited by jungle natives and singing mermaids. The Strawberry Hill Players are thrilled to present this story of friendship, duty, and love and discover just how The Boy Who Would Not Grow Up came to be!

Stamford High School

As the drama club at Stamford High School, the Strawberry Hill Players are composed of very talented actors, singers, dancers, and all-around wonderful people (if we do say so ourselves)! The club involves two parts: first, the theater sector, in which performers, our costume crew, and tech troupe put on plays and musicals for the community to enjoy. Second, the Strawberry Hill Improv Players (SHIP) bring hilarious improv comedy to life in their productions! Each year we put together marvelous productions, including a fall play, Senior Scenes, Knight of Cabaret, and a spring musical. Recently, we have been recognized at the Stephen Sondheim Awards and Connecticut HALO competition. Last year's production of The Prom won a total of FOUR Sondheim Awards for Best Student Sound Design, Best Supporting Actress, Best Choreography, and Best Ensemble! In the past, the club has also competed at CDA, The Connecticut Drama Association, performing 45-minute plays against other schools.
