Director's Note: Welcome to “SpongeBob the Musical!” I am so excited you could make it to the show! I know this musical - originally a tv show, is very popular and near and dear to a lot of us. I know for me, I grew up watching “SpongeBob Squarepants,” as a child. I watched this show a lot, it was one of my many favorite tv shows. I remember watching on my my small, bulky square TV had, sitting in my room watching all day long. This show was every child's favorite and every parents nightmare, listening to SpongeBob's laugh all day, while reruns played in the background. What I really enjoy most, is how long SpongeBob lasted for. Starting in 1999 (The year that I was born, isn’t that crazy!) and its end date in 2015. It spanned over many generations. Its something we as adults can enjoy and something we can relate to with the younger generation too. So with directing this musical it's going to be so exciting to see all generations unite with a TV show we all know and love. I will say, going into directing this musical was a scary decision. Although I have never directed a musical in the past, I have directed and organized the One Act festival in January of last year. Although a musical is a beast in itself, I can say directing this musical was not a mistake. I decided to make a big leap and push my comfort zone. What better musical to start with, I knew the characters and it's something I felt comfortable doing since I grew up with these characters. Now I could bring them to life in my own creative way! I also couldn’t have asked for a better team to work with, and a cast I am so proud of! The hard work and dedication everyone has put into this show has been incredible!
