Julia Whalen (Director) holds a bachelor’s degree in Theatre Performance and Arts Administration from the University of Wisconsin La Crosse. During her time at UW-La Crosse, she performed in 11 productions over 4 years, with standout roles including Ensemble in Chicago, Val in Come Back, and Matilda in All Shook Up. She was also nominated and became a semi-finalist for the Irene Ryan Acting Scholarship award in 2015 and 2016. Julia's professional experience includes working as a Front of House Manager for the Creede Repertory Theatre and The Aurora Fox Arts Center. Since moving to the Roaring Fork Valley three years ago, she has performed with Thunder River Theatre Company (Hurricane Diane, Zeus on the Loose, Monster in Me), Aspen Community Theatre (Company, Once Upon a Mattress), and Sopris Theatre Company (Silent Sky, The One-Act Play That Goes Wrong, The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time). She is currently performing with the Glenwood Vaudeville Revue for the Summer season and will be returning for the holiday season. This production marks Julia's directorial debut. Throughout the process, she completed The Artist’s Way, a creative self-help program, and dedicates the show to the courage of storytellers everywhere.

Ricki T. Bowden (Costume Designer) has been creating and designing for Sopris Theater Company for several years. Some notable designs include The Book of Will, Frankenstein: The Monster/The Man? and Uncle Vanya. Her love of theater started at age 10, with the local production of Annie. She found a new passion for costuming after studying theater in college. She combined that passion with her talent and skill for sewing and now creates and designs costumes for stage productions, cosplay and fashion. Productions she has designed for include Defiance Community Players Les Misérables and Fiddler on The Roof, Thunder River Theater Company Of Mice and Men and Bluenose, and JH Theatrics Aladdin Jr. Though her specialty is in historical productions, she enjoys enhancing any story through the visual impact of costumes.

Brad Moore (Scenic/Lighting/Sound Designer) is the Artistic Producer for the Sopris Theatre Company and is the Theatre Program Manager for CMC. He was named the 2017 Adjunct Faculty of the Year, both Spring Valley Campus and college wide. Brad was first involved with CMC in the mid-1980s as director and actor at Spring Valley and as an instructor at the Aspen campus. Brad directed and designed STC’s award-winning production of Natural Shocks that played at the Colorado Theatre Festival in August. He also directed and designed The Other Place, which won multiple awards at the Colorado Theatre Festival and went on to the national AACTFest 2019 in Gettysburg, PA. There, the production won several awards and was nominated for Overall Outstanding Production. Other CMC design credits include Silent Sky, Red, Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead, The Glorious Ones, Private Eyes, Cabaret, The Revolutionists, and The Seafarer. Brad is the resident director for the Aspen Fringe Festival and serves on the board of the Colorado Community Theatre Coalition. He is the Colorado State Representative and is on the Festival Commission for the American Association of Community Theatre. He is a co-founder and currently Board President of Aspen Stage. Brad also serves on the board of the Aspen Community Theatre.

Calvin Parrish (Stage Manager, ze/hir/he/him) is a student at the Spring Valley campus of CMC. Having started his theatre career in the 3rd grade, he is no stranger to performing and working on shows. Ze started his time at Sopris Theatre Company as the Lead Property Manager on Natural Shocks, then transitioning to play one of the voices in The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time, he is now making hirs first foray into stage managing. He is excited to take on this new role with the theatre company and is very interested to see where hirs years at CMC will take him. Ze would like to dedicate this show to both his younger self, and anyone who has struggled with depression and suicide.

Sidney Wach (Assistant Stage Manager) is new to the Sopris Theater Company and is grateful for the opportunity to support this production from behind the scenes. She has participated in productions at Jester's Theater in Longmont, CO in High School Musical (Sharpay), in South Pacific (Ngana), and in A Christmas Carol (Ensemble). She also had the pleasure of acting in Hansel and Gretel (Gretel) at Longmont Theater Company. Most recently, she co-wrote and performed in Bene Come Il Sale for the Italian program at the University of Colorado-Boulder.

Ana Planaj (Assistant Stage Manager) is originally from Albania and Italy and is making her debut with the Sopris Theatre Company. With a passion for theatre, she began her journey in high school in Italy, where she performed for three years. One of the notable shows was Shakespeare’s “A Midsummer Night's Dream”, along with other productions written by her professor. Outside of theatre, Ana enjoys dancing and acting, constantly seeking new ways to immerse herself in the performing arts.

Zofia Stroman (Projections) is thrilled to be a part of Sopris Theatre Company through the CMC Theater Production class. This marks their first major involvement in theater since high school. For this production, Zofia has focused on the technical aspects of projections. They are excited to be part of this creative journey and hope you enjoy the show!

Alexa Stanley (Lead Stagehand) is no stranger to the stage being in countless productions such as, Fiddler on the Roof, Oliver!, All Together Now, Book Lovers, and A Most Average Musical to name a few. She is super excited to join the crew for The Sweetest Swing in Baseball.
