Mean Girls: The Musical Cast

Olivia Dease (Cady Heron)
Olivia is originally from Las Vegas and is currently pursuing a degree in Business Marketing at the University of Nevada, Reno. She has been performing since she was young and was most recently seen as Lorraine in Bat Boy. Some of her favorite roles include Katherine in “Freaky Friday”, Lorraine in “All Shook Up”, Logainne Schwartzandgrubenierre in “The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee”, Margot in “Legally Blonde”, and Dorothy in “The Wizard of Oz”. Olivia is thrilled to make her SSPA debut as Cady and hopes you enjoy the show!
Ava Amico (Regina George)
Ava is currently studying musical theater at UNR, where she recently played Ruthie in their production of “Batboy: The Musical”. This is her first show with SSPA and she is so excited to perform on the Bartley Ranch stage! She’s so grateful to her family for their unwavering support, especially the ones who traveled from far and wide. Have a fantastic time at the show!
Anuhea Azevedo (Janis Ian)
Anuhea is very excited for this production of "Mean Girls." She has been performing since the age of five and has most recently performed in "The Addams Family" as Wednesday Addams. She's totally psyched to play Janis in this production, and she hopes you enjoy the show!
Abby Wagner (Janis Ian)
Abby is excited to return to Sierra School for Performing Arts after first appearing with SSPA as "Annie" back in 2021. Abby is a rising senior at North Tahoe High School and has previously appeared in productions including Truckee Tahoe Theatre Company’s "The Prom" (Emma Nolan) and Great Futures Productions’ productions of "The Addams Family" (Wednesday), "Bye Bye Birdie" (Mae Peterson), and "SIX: Teen Edition" (Jane Seymour). Abby is so grateful for all her new friends in this cast and crew and for her family at the Boys & Girls Club of North Lake Tahoe.
Coy Romo (Damian)
Coy Romo is thrilled to be making his debut at Bartley Ranch for SSPA! Recent theatrical credits include Rick Taylor (UNR’s" Bat Boy the Musical") and Fyedka (WNMTC’s "Fiddler on the Roof"). He would like to thank his friends and family for their never-ending support, and can’t wait for everyone to experience the magic of Mean Girls. “She doesn’t even go here!”
Matthew Fish (Aaron Samuels)
Elise Van Dyne (Gretchen Wieners)
Elise is grateful to return to the Hawkins stage since most recently directing several youth productions with SSPA; she music directed (and co-directed) "Little Mermaid" and "Grease. In addition to her many stage appearances in local theaters, she has appeared in many SSPA summer productions including "Legally Blonde", "Into the Woods", and "Annie".
Brynna Wayland (Karen Smith)
Brynna is a senior at UNR majoring in Musical Theatre, Dance, and Kinesiology. Recent credits include "Bat Boy: The Musical" (Ensemble/Swing), "Guys & Dolls" (Ensemble), "The Nutcracker" (Flowers/Snow/Party Parent/Lead Chef), and numerous dance productions at the university. This is Brynna’s first show with SSPA and she is so excited to be a part of it. She would like to thank the cast and crew for making this such a wonderful experience!
Deb Leamy (Ms. Norbury/Mrs. Heron)
Deb is originally from Providence, RI, home of funny accents and beautiful coastlines. She made NYC her home for more than 20 years, working as a theatre artist, director and choreographer. Performing on Broadway, regionally, and across the globe, some of Deb's favorite shows include "Fosse", "Chicago", and "A Chorus Line". She spent seven years teaching in academia; two of those at UNR, teaching Music Theatre. She has directed and/or choreographed for numerous musicals, and in 2016 founded the SF version of the AIDS benefit, Broadway Bares, raising hundreds of thousands of dollars for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. While the arts will always be a part of her life, she now practices real estate here in the beautiful mountains of Northern Nevada.
Sophie Moeller (Mrs. George)
Sophie is thrilled to return to her favorite summer theater venue, Bartley Ranch, with SSPA. Previous SSPA credits include Paulette in "Legally Blonde" and Adelaide in "Guys and Dolls." Other favorite roles include Audrey in "Little Shop of Horrors," Lottie in "Enchanted April," and Doralee in "9 to 5." Sophie is honored to have received the Forte Award for Best Actress in a Dramatic Role, as well as Best Actress at the Oregon Short Film Festival. A very special thank you to Tripp, Halo, and Anthony for putting up with all of her “not so cool mom” moments. Love you always!
Bryce Hurley (Kevin Gnapoor, U/S Damian)
Bryce is very excited to perform in such a fun show! You may recognize him from the Ensemble of "The Producers" at SSPA, Roger in "Grease: School Edition" at SSPA, or Hades in "Hadestown: Teen Edition" at RLT. He has been a part of seven years of regional and All State choirs, along with the tenor section leader of Nevada's High School Honor Choir. He will be pursuing a BA in Musical Theatre at UNR for the next four years.
Stephen Thompson (Principal Duvall)
Stephen received his BFA from NYU, Tisch, where he also attended the Graduate Program in Music Theatre, and holds a Masters in Theatre Education from Emerson College. After starting his musical career as a Music Director, Accompanist, Theatre Director, and Playwright/Composer, he then taught Music and Theatre History at Emerson College, ECSU, Clark University, and for the Metropolitan Opera Guild. He has taught and directed award-winning choirs and theatre troupes in MA, CT, AR, and OR, and has served as an ACDA-certified choral adjudicator. Stephen is the choir director and organist at St Mary’s in the Mountains in Virginia City, teaches voice privately, and is the founding Executive and Artistic Director of Forte Vocal.

Jared has appeared in many shows around town, most recently, "The Producers", which SSPA presented at Bartley Ranch this past summer. He enjoyed playing the zany "Franz" who talked to pigeons and worshipped the furor. He also co-directed "Little Mermaid Jr." in 2023 with his favorite co-director, Elise Van Dyne.

Zach has been doing theater for 2 years and is thrilled to be a part of his first production at SSPA! He has participated in Hug High School productions, playing Chiron in “The Lightning Thief” and Jimmy/Chad in “Almost, Maine” and Lake Tahoe Shakespeare’s Youth Production of “Twelfth Night” as Sebastian/Fabian. He would like to thank his friends and family, especially his mom, for always pushing him to be his best and helping him to be able to keep going.
Ava Lee (U/S Cady, Ensemble)
Ava is so excited to be in her first adult production at SSPA. Some of her recent roles include Eurydice in “Hadestown: Teen Edition”, Frenchy in “Grease: School Edition” and Alyssa Greene in “The Prom”. In the fall, Ava plans to attend BYU and study musical theater. She would like to thank her friends and family for all their support throughout the years. She hopes you enjoy the show!

Izzy is so grateful to be a part of this incredibly talented cast and crew! She is currently a senior at UNR with a major in musical theatre. At UNR, she has recently appeared as Shelley in “Bat Boy: The Musical” and as Juliet in “Romeo and Juliet”. Many years ago, Izzy appeared as a munchkin SSPA's production of "Wizard of Oz"! She is very excited to be performing with Reno’s community and hopes you enjoy the show!

Story Gaudard (Ensemble)
Story is ecstatic to be a part of SSPA’s production of "Mean Girls". Story has been performing within Reno’s youth theater scene for many years now. Her most recent appearances include, Little Becky Two Shoes in RLT’s "Urinetown", Ensemble in Damonte Ranch High School’s "Side by Side by Sondheim", and Patty Simcox in SSPA’s "Grease School Edition". Story is thrilled to finally step out of the box of the youth theater scene and cannot wait to dance her heart out on the Bartley Ranch stage!

Marlee is a third year vocal performance major at the University of Nevada, Reno. She started performing at five years old and has been doing so ever since. Her favorite productions include Eponine in “Les Miserables", The Baker's Wife in “Into the Woods”, and The Dew Fairy in UNR Opera's production of “Hansel and Gretel.” She is very grateful to her family and friends for their endless support.

Anna Krivan (Ensemble)
Anna is 18 years old and graduated from Truckee High School this year. This is her first show with SSPA. She has been in multiple shows with Great Futures Productions in Kings Beach including “SIX” as Anna of Cleves and “Bye Bye Birdie” as Rosie. She will be attending UCLA this fall for a BA in Musical Theater and a minor in economics. Thanks to everyone involved in this show, it’s been such a treat!
Ashley Melendez (Ensemble)
Ashley has been singing since the age of four. She is excited to join SSPA this summer! She has been in “Trial By Jury” and "Die Fledermaus" with Firebird Light Opera and sings in the Great Basin Chorale. Ashley has performed the National Anthem for the Reno Air Races, Star Spangled Sparks (2021), The Great Balloon Race and the Nevada Wolfpack basketball games. Ashley is a member of Sigma Alpha Iota, International Music Fraternity.
Samuel Seifert (Ensemble)
Samuel is a junior at Galena High School, he has been doing productions with SSPA since 2023 including “Little Mermaid”, “Bye Bye Birdie”, and “Grease”. He has helped backstage on “Beauty and the Beast” and plays the clarinet in band at school.
Anikka Tate (Ensemble)
Anikka is so excited to do her first show with SSPA! She has been doing theatre now for 8 years and studies musical theatre at the University of Nevada, Reno. She is so grateful for her family and friends who have supported her through this journey, and hopes everyone enjoys the show!

Genesis is an upcoming senior musical theatre and business major at UNR. She recently just finished being in the ensemble for UNR's production of "Bat Boy the Musical." This is Genesis's first time in a musical outside of school and is very excited to be performing with SSPA for the first time after taking a few summer camps with them! She would like to thank her family for all their support.
