About Born Yesterday

Award winning “BORN YESTERDAY“ is a comedy by playwright and humorist Garson Kanin produced for the stage in 1946 with subsequent movie version in 1950, with themes about influence peddling, corrupt government officials, misogyny and vulgar, egotistical, wealthy men. Sound familiar? This play is just as prescient today as it was when first imagined. As the story unfolds, we see the femme fatale going from a “dumb, ex- chorus girl“ to the heroine who foils a plot to defraud the public. Humor abounds with a nod to the classic “Pygmalion” running through it.
