Pippin Creative

Sound Designer
Kalista A. Kapphahn Kalista A. Kapphahn (Junior) enjoys various fashion styles including gothic lolita, punk, and Victorian based designs. She has quite a fondness for acting, tech, and more specifically in musicals. She also enjoys dark lighting and colors as it’s easier on the eyes. This is often shown in their art, which she does quite often, and her clothes. In the past she has taken a part of the 2021 production of Clue as a part of set construction and 2021’s one act festival as both a director and actor. In the current work of Pippin she has a part of sound, working with the music cues, and the many many songs to be enjoyed.

Painting Crew
Bella AndradeBella Andrade (Senior) is eager to be a member of the painting crew. Pippin is the first production she has done technical work for, but before that she had performed in Sibling Satire as Quinn which was a part of the One Act Festival in 2020. As a senior she enjoys spending time with her friends and uses her free time to either enjoy a good show, play guitar, or sketch. She wants to thank her family and friends for always supporting her.

Publicity Crew (Graphic Design Lead)
Julia AtkinsFor Julia Atkins (Junior), this is her first time ever performing live for an SDA musical. Julia has been in countless other musical theater productions outside of school. In Pippin she is one of the "players", specifically the aerial silks artist. She also helped make the Pippin poster, and your playbill cover art. In her free time she dances traditional Mexican Folklorico, does karate, field hockey, painting, and learned aerial silks for this production.

Construction Crew
Edie BradyEdie Brady (Freshman) who works as a construction crew member in Theatre Tech. It is her first time in any theatre class and she hopes to improve her construction skills. She hopes to use her creativity and to make new friends. She enjoys this class and hopes to continue liking it.

Painting Crew
Kat BruunKat Bruun (Senior) was a part of the painting crew for this show and helped to bring the show Pippin to life. She was also a part of the props and painting crew for our online showing of Myth-o-logues. She can't wait for you to see the show!

Dramaturg /Publicity Crew/Sound Engineer
Dylan BunyakDylan Bunyak (Junior) is so excited to be part of Pippin! In the past she was the Dramaturg for The Pajama Game in 2020 :( and the Sound Designer for Mythologues in 2021! Dylan has also worked with the La Jolla Playhouse for the past 8 years and is now a part of their Teen Council, working to make theatre more inclusive and equitable. Outside of the theater, Dylan practices flute both in band and classically, is the co-president of SDA´s Speech and Debate Team, and loves to write, read, and make art. She also enjoys going to board game conventions in LA and experimenting with new vegan recipes. Dylan hopes you´re as ¬jazzed¬ about this production as she is!

Assistant Set Designer
Mariela BurnsMariela Burns (Sophomore) is super excited to be a part of this wonderful show! She is the Assistant Set Designer and this will be the first high school show she is participating in! As Assistant Set Designer she hopes to create a magical setting for this year's production of Pippin. She hopes everyone has a fulfilling time watching our spring musical! Outside of class she enjoys many activities such as drawing.
Lighting Crew
Mella ColemanMella Coleman (Freshman) is very excited for her first production in the SDA theater. She's enjoyed learning the ropes in lighting and looks forward to continuing to learn throughout her highschool years. Her favorite part of Theater Tech is the interesting people she gets to work with and learning about the creative process that goes into making a show.

Hair & Makeup Crew
Nola ConklingNola Conkling (Freshman) is an eager member of the Makeup & Hair Crew. Although this is her first show at SDA, Nola has performed and been in the Tech Crew of her dance studios productions. Nola's hobbies outside of school include hanging out with friends and family, dance, and the occasional art project. She is extremely happy to be a part of this production and hopefully many more at SDA and hopes you enjoy the show!

Costume Crew
Taylor DennisTaylor Dennis (Sophomore) is a part of the costume crew for Pippin. This is her first time working on a musical and she has loved working on costumes for the show. She is very grateful for this incredible experience. In her free time she loves spending time with friends and playing guitar. She would like to thank her friends and support family for all their support!

Makeup and Hair Crew
Jayce EdensJayce Edens (Freshman) is a part of the hair and makeup crew for Pippin. He has worked in past shows painting sets and helping with props many times before. He has had prior experience in the cosmetics space and with much practice doing both hair and makeup. He has enjoyed working in the upcoming show, Pippin.

Choreographer
Brandon FefferBrandon Feffer (Senior) is ecstatic to take part in his final high school musical, Pippin! He is also currently the officer of public relations for SDA's Thespian Troupe (@sdathespians). Most recently, Brandon played Laurie in Little Women and Mr. Green in Clue! He has previously been in SDA Theatre productions including Mamma Mia, which went on to win the Broadway San Diego Award for Best Musical in 2019! Brandon also has enjoyed multiple positions on the technical side of theater, his favorite being a Co-Costume Designer in A Midsummer Night's Dream. Elena FessendenElena Fessenden (Freshman) is very excited to be part of SDA's production of Pippin. She enjoys reading, art, and baking. She wants to thank her family and friends!

Lighting Crew
Jack GoodbodyJack Goodbody (Sophomore) loves to collaborate and work with others and he thinks that being able to work together is a great skill to have and makes work easier and more fun. He likes to hangout with friends and listen to music and talk. When he grows up he wants to be a therapist because he loves to talk to people and hear how people see the world and their ideas. But since there are so many therapists already, he wants to set himself aside from the rest to learn sign language and be able to help deaf or hard of hearing people get the help they need.
Assistan Stage Manager
Mary GrendaMary Grenda (Freshman) is very excited to be participating in her first musical there! for Pippin. Mary is taking on the role of assistant stage manager for the first time! She is very very excited to be a part of such an awesome show with such awesome people!

Costume Crew
Solace HughesSolace Hughes (Junior) is excited to be working on the costume crew for Pippin at SDA. This will be the second production he will be working on, the first one being Mytholouges where they worked on set construction. In their free time, they enjoy reading and drawing along with spending time with friends.

Sadie KuzmaSadie Kuzma (Freshman) is a member of the costume crew for Pippin.This is her first production for the school and she is very excited to work on more in the future. Sadie has experience with sewing and making clothes, and has participated in a costume design program at the Old Globe theater. Most of her extra time is spent playing soccer or hanging out with friends.

Props Crew
Oliver LangleyOliver Langley (Freshman) is on the props crew and is excited to explore the realm of technical theatre for the first time on Pippin. His previous experience includes performing as an actor in a musical theatre production, along with taking classes in drama and improv while living in Los Angeles. He is a freshman and looks forward to more productions in the future. Oliver can be seen regularly attempting to be witty at SDA Comedy Sportz practice. Many thanks to Spencer for showing Oliver the ropes.

Lighting Crew
Ben KoeslingBen Koesling (Sophomore) is in the Light Crew. He recently worked as spotlight operator in "You're in a Good Man Charlie Brown" for CCT. This will be his first production at SDA. For fun, he likes to participate in musicals for various different production companies. He wants to thank his parents for always supporting what he does.

Assistant Stage Manager / Master Carpenter
Izzie LewisIzze Lewis (Junior) is the Assistant Stage Manager and Master Carpenter for Pippin! This is Izze's third in person show for SDA; they most recently were a part of Clue! and Little Women. They are having so much fun working on this production and are very excited to see it come to life.

Construction Crew
Hailey MalwitzHailey Malwitz (Freshman) is in the technical theater class and is on the Set Construction Crew. Being a part of this class has helped improve her building skills and creativity. She loves being a part of this class and enjoys helping build the set for Pippin and can't wait for the show.

Master Electrician
Ava MurrayAva Murray (Sophomore) is very excited for her first time as Master Electrician. She started at Sda theater in the fall production of Clue and started work on Oh Ollie in the lighting crew. She started in lighting because she helped with the light and sound at her middle school productions and wanted to try to continue on a bigger scale. She instantly fell in love with lighting and the people and hopes to continue with it and design lights for a show one day. She couldn't have done it without her mentors in lighting helping her grow and learn, one being the Lighting Designer, Eden Shay.

Props Master
Spencer NoellSpencer Noell (Junior) is the Props master for both of our Spring shows. He is very excited for you all to see the show and has loved working on the props team. They love to draw and often read or listen to music. He is also the props master for the later show Oh Ollie! Enjoy the show! :D

Publicity Crew
Sam ObispoSam Obispo (Junior) who is currently working on Pippin, her first show, as a member of Publicity Crew. She hopes that the show will sell out and be a huge success. When she isn't helping the production she can often be found at home baking and spending time with her family.

Construction Crew
Daniel PadillaDaniel Padilla (Junior), from the set construction crew, is a creative, motivated learner who likes to try new things. He is working in the set construction crew for Pippin. He has been playing soccer for 8 years and enjoys doing fun things with family and friends in his free time.

Construction Crew
Diego PadillaDiego Padilla (Senior) is doin' work and enjoying helping bring Pippin to life! His past experience includes Failure: A Love Story as well as Mama Mia!, both of which he enjoyed working on. Outside of his technical roles in the theatre arts, Diego loves story boarding, working on video projects, as well as writing music. He wouldn't have gotten involved in theater had it not been for Ari, a now graduated senior from SDA whom Diego befriended.

Makeup and Hair Crew
Angelica PalafoxAngelica Palafox (Sophomore) is a member of the hair and makeup crew. This is her first show and they're excited to contribute to the production. They enjoy cosplaying and drawing in their spare time and when not working the production, she works as a cashier at a taco shop! They hope that many people come to see the show.

Publicity Manager
Elizabeth PaulElizabeth Paul (Junior) is the Publicity Manager for this spring’s musical production Pippin. She has done previous work for the SDA theatre department on painting crew for The Pajama Game, which unfortunately got cut short during 2020. She plays competitive volleyball, works at Bobby Riggs, and, in the little free time she has, likes to draw and hang out with friends. Elizabeth is very excited for this production and hopes audiences are just as ~fired~ up about it as she is.

Makeup Designer
Jackie PerezJackie Perez (Senior) is excited to be your makeup designer for Pippin. She has previously been makeup designer for Little Women and Haunting of Hill House. In her free time she enjoys playing lacrosse and spending time with her friends. She is also currently makeup designer for another SDA production called “Oh Ollie”!

Props Crew
Maia PlutnerMaia Plutner (Freshman) likes drawing, painting, & anything creative. This is her first time participating in the production of a show. She loves using collaboration when working, and so far she has helped the props crew that she is in with many different tasks. Some things that she has done are that she has found props, helped create a master props list, found inspiration, and finally, she has gone through the props room and has gotten familiar with the items inside.

Anthony RobertsonAnthony Robertson (Sophomore) is a part of the light crew. This will be his first production. When he's not in school Anthony enjoys hanging out with his family.

Hannah RolnickHannah Rolnick (Freshman) is very excited to work on the lighting crew for Pippin. Pippin is her second show at SDA. She worked on props and stage crew for SDA´s fall production of CLUE. In her free time, Hannah enjoys spending time with friends and knitting. She hopes to continue doing lighting throughout high school.

Stage Manager
Tegan SchlosserTegan Schlosser (Senior) cannot wait for you to experience the magic we have to do for you. You can always find her somewhere in the theater, on the stage, on the field hockey field or in her room reading. From making rehearsal reports to tracking each and every moving part of this production. From unifying our crews to calling cues, Tegan has had a blast. She feels so privileged to have managed these amazing humans in what is now her 16th and final show at SDA! She would like to thank everyone for the memories & friends she's made in this blackbox. Have an extraordinary night :)

Lighting Designer
Eden ShayFor Eden Shay (Senior), Pippin marks their 19th production with SDA Theatre. They have recently done lighting design for 10 Minute Musicals, Clue, and most recently Little Women. Eden has done solely lighting tech for their 4 years here at SDA. They plan to take this experience and knowledge to college with them to study theatre design and tech. They are very excited to be able to experiment with the look of this show and be able to work with our new equipment. One of Eden's favorite parts of this show was being able to see their master electrician and crew members grow and learn.

Bela SinhaBela Sinha (Senior) has been taking the technical theater class since her freshman year and has always really enjoyed it. She has worked on many productions, those including Mamma Mia! her freshman year and Clue back in October. This will be her last show here and is so very excited to be the costume designer! She hopes you all enjoy the show!

Indya WeesnerIndya Weesner (Sophomore) Indya has enjoyed contributing to the making of Pippin. This is their first production, with many more to come here at SDA.
