Jasper Bier is 17 years old and is a Senior. Matilda is his 11th show at SDA after being in publicity for The Play That Goes Wrong, Spongebob, 2023 One Act Festival, Puffs, Miss Electricity, Queens Guard and Emma along with acting in the 2022 One Act Festival, The Queens Guard, Emma and Puffs. In his free time he loves to play video games, Watch video essays about his favorite movies and video games along with reading fantasy novels. He is excited to work with this talented cast and crew in bringing this show to life.

Kyra Bottelbergs is a 14 year old freshman at SDA. She was born in Belgium and moved here when she was 8. She loves SDA and the community here! This is her first theater class other than taking Intro To Drama in 7th grade. She is very excited to be in Matilda and being able to work with the amazing theater group! When not at school, Kyra enjoys hanging out with her friends, going shopping, thrifting, being at the beach, roller skating, walking her dog, listening to music, doing makeup and painting!

Mariela (or Ella) Burns is a Senior this year! Matilda will be her seventh show here at the Clayton E. Liggett theater. When she isn’t checking you in or teaching her ushers how to seat people, she can be found color matching/mixing and painting all the sets you’ll see on stage. She is looking forward to introducing you to the playful world of Matilda, with lots of oversized books, and letter blocks to emphasize Matilda’s love for reading and learning.

Mella Coleman is a junior and very excited to be working with lights for another wire production! This is her third year doing theatre, and her fourth time being Lead Electrician. Her favorite part of theatre is the community and the dedication that everyone has. In her free time, she enjoys reading, crocheting, and spending time with her friends.

Adam Cohan
Adam Cohan is a 14 year old Freshman working on his second show with the SDA theatre. Previously he worked on Puffs as apart of the props crew. When outside of class, Adam likes to play video games, draw, write, and he is currently learning how to play the electric guitar. He is beyond himself to be a part of such a fantastic musical as a member of stage management. He hopes to see you there!

Taylor Dennis
Taylor Dennis is a senior in SDA theatre and is the Publicity Manager for Matilda! She has been participating in shows since her sophmore year including Pippin, Oh Ollie, The Play that Goes Wrong, Cabaret Night 2023, Spongebob the Musical, and Puffs. She has gained experience in multiple technical roles ranging from hair/makeup to stage managing. Outside of theatre Taylor enjoys hanging out with friends, going on hikes, photography, and is involved in various film projects. She can’t wait for you to see the show!

Skye Fenati is a 15 year old sophomore at SDA. Matilda is his 5th production at the SDA theater, he also worked on set crew for The SpongeBob Musical, The Queen's Guard, Emma, and Puffs. When he's not working in the theater, Skye likes to draw, hang out with friends, and take care of his pets. He's so happy to get the opportunity to work with the amazing cast and crew of Matilda, and he can't wait to see the show himself.

Autumn Gage is 15 years old and in the ninth grade. Matilda is her first ever stage production at SDA or elsewhere. When not at school, Autumn loves to hang out with friends, play Field Hockey and Waterpolo, draw, and read. She is very excited to be a part of such a fun musical and amazing group of people, and looks forward to doing more theatre with SDA in the future.

Mary Grenda
Oi, bruv! Mary Grenda is a junior at SDA, and is super chuffed to be on the lighting crew for Matilda. Mary has participated in theater at SDA since she was a freshman, and Matilda marks her third musical here, which she thinks is just aces! She is also glad to be branching out of her normal skill set in theater, and trying all sorts of new things in lighting, a chockablocked crew of cheeky people. Mary wants to thank her fave blokes Ava, Liam, and Ainsley, and Mella and hope you enjoy the barmy show, Cheers!

Leela hebel is a 9th grader. She likes to paint and is very creative with everything she does. She has not done any shoes or musicals before this. She has some painting experience at home with family and friends. she likes to paint, draw, and do crafts. She likes the beach and sunsets all being in the water and swimming she has a best friend named Allie m and they love spending time together they have known each other for almost three years. they go to the town center and get food. leela loves sushi and french fries. she also loves trader joes talkis. She was born in India and raised in Mexico and California.

Darcy Hudson
Darcy Hudson is 17 years old and in the twelfth grade. She is elated to be the Lead Carpenter for Matilda. Darcy has also worked to create sets for The Play That Goes Wrong, Puffs, and Emma. When not working in the scene shop, she enjoys hiking, spending time with her friends, and painting. She is very excited to create a lively set that brings Matilda to life with the help of an amazing crew and creative cast.

Crow Johns is 17 years old and in 12th grade. Matilda is his 6th show at the Clayton E. Ligette Theater. They also worked in Puffs, The Queen's Guard, The Spongebob Musical, The Play That Goes Wrong, and Myth-o-lougues. When not working backstage, Crow enjoys reading, hanging out with friends, playing video games, and drawing. Dominik Koesling is 18 years old and is in 12th grade. This is his second time being a part of Ms. Siers Tech Theater class. He has also done tech for several other theater companies. He is very excited to be a part of this production for his last year at SDA. When he is not doing tech he enjoys reading, going out with his friends, and playing guitar. He is ecstatic to be a part of this wonderful production with his fellow students.

Bryn McCarren(any pronouns) is a senior at San Dieguito Academy and is positively delighted to be the assistant stage manager for this 'Miracle' of a show! Seeing Matilda years and years ago at the Civic theater was Bryn's first introduction to the world of theater, and now 'When She's Grown Up' "She's Here" once again. Matilda marks Bryn's 10th production with SDA theater, and 8th as purely a technician. They love theatre tech with their whole heart and could not be more thrilled with the final product of her last musical production at SDA. She hopes you're as excited as she is for the show, so be 'Quiet' and watch the cast get 'Loud'!

Rosie (she/her) is a senior and has been stage managing with SDA Theatre for three years. She is the thespian troupe Secretary, President of the Comedy Sportz team, and also a part of SDA’s PALs program. Matilda is her final show with SDA Theatre, it’s been a wild ride! Rosie would also like to thank all her friends and family for dealing with her Madonna-like imitation of a British accent this semester. Now you know why!

Kennedy is 15 years old. This is her first year doing theater tech. Matilda is her first ever musical/performance that she will have done. Though they have not done theater previously, she does dance, sing and has performed in competitions for dance before. They design clothes in her free time and is incredibly excited to do that for the musical. She loves reading, watching TV, and hanging out with her family the most.

Liam Walsh is 18 and a senior at San Dieguito Academy. He cannot wait to be a part of the lighting crew for Matilda. This will be his fourth time being in an SDA production working with lights. Maya Wiltgen
Maya Wiltgen is a fourteen year old in ninth grade who is assigned to the makeup and hair crew. She has no prior theatre experience, but is familiar with makeup, music, hair styling, and painting. Outside of school, she primarily enjoys drawing and calling her friends. She’s watched the Matilda movie and is excited to help out actors in the musical.

Dennis Kelly:Work for theatre includes Debris, Osama the Hero, After the End, Love and Money, Taking Care of Baby, DNA, Orphans, The Gods Weep, and The Ritual Slaughter of Gorge Mastromas. He has written the book for the new musical of Pinocchio which opens at the National Theatre at the end of 2017, and in 2018 his new play Girls and Boys opens at the Royal Court. His plays have been performed worldwide and to date have been translated into nearly forty languages. For television he co-wrote and co-created Pulling and wrote and created Utopia, and for film he wrote the screenplay for Black Sea, directed by Kevin MacDonald. He also wrote the book for the Olivier and Tony winning Matilda the Musical. In 2010 DNA became a set text on the GCSE English Literature syllabus.

Tim Minchin: Tim is a musician, actor, comedian, writer and director. He’s toured extensively in the US, UK and Australia, performing solo, with bands, and with symphony orchestras. He’s released five DVDs, the most recent recorded with the Heritage Orchestra at the Royal Albert Hall. Screen acting credits include Robin Hood Origins (2018), Secret River (2015), and Californication (Season 6 - 2013). Stage acting credits include Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead (Sydney Theatre Company) and Jesus Christ Superstar (UK/Australia tours). Tim has written extensively for theatre, and is the composer-lyricist of Matilda the Musical (with Dennis Kelly) and Groundhog Day the Musical (with Danny Rubin).

Roald Dahl: Roald Dahl (1916-1990) was the author of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Matilda, The BFG and many more of the world’s best-loved children’s stories. He remains one of the world’s greatest storytellers and is celebrated annually by the world’s biggest author-based event, Roald Dahl Day – which is recognised across the globe on 13th September.

His first children’s story, James and the Giant Peach, published in 1961 and was a huge hit. Every subsequent book became a best-seller.

Today, his stories are available in 59 languages and, by a conservative estimate, he has sold more than 250 million books. Many of these stories have also been adapted for stage and screen, including the 1971 film classic Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, Wes Anderson’s acclaimed Fantastic Mr Fox, and the Royal Shakespeare Company’s multi-award winning production of Matilda The Musical.
