MATILDA the Musical SNEAK PEEK (Dinner & a Show) Cast

Kiva Andrews is a 16 year old junior at SDA. Matilda marks her 5th production at the SDA Theater, but the first show within the Musical Theater program! She has assisted in other shows such as PUFFs, The Play That Goes Wrong, The One Acts Festival 2022, and Cabaret Night 2023. Kiva spends her time playing ComedySportz, thrifting with friends, and drinking a lot of matcha lattes. There’s no place like home for Kiva except the SDA theater and she can’t wait to perform as little boy Nigel with her talented peers in this year’s Matilda.

George is 16 years old and currently surviving sophomore year. He is enjoying his time in the SDA theatre, and is thrilled to play Michael in SDA's production of Matilda. If he isn't talking about theatre, he is probably talking about the one and only competitive improv team Comedy Sportz. That or DnD. Outside of school he likes to draw, procrastinate drivers ed, eat food, forget about homework, listen to music, watch the TELLY! and draw some more.

Katherine is 16 years old, and a sophomore in high school. Matilda is her second SDA production, but the first she has been on the stage for. Previously, working on the costume crew for Puffs, Katherine found that theater was a great way to make friends, and a wonderful overall experience. When she isn’t playing pretend on stage with friends, you can find her studying, reading, or crocheting.

Conrad is super excited to be participating in his third production at SDA, after playing Prof. Turban and the Second Headmaster in Puffs and Austin in the One Act Festival in 2023. He is relatively new to theatre, with his only other recent show outside of this being Newsies at North Coast Repertory Theatre, where he played Pulitzer. His hobbies outside of theatre include studying Japanese, drawing, fursuiting, and writing. He hopes you enjoy the show :)

Tyler Duran is 16 years old and in his Sophomore year. Matilda will be his second full scale production with SDA, after starring as Mister Voldy in 2023’s Puffs. He’s performed in a handful of outside productions, and loves being on the stage. Outside of the theater, Tyler loves to go to the beach, the gym, and getting out in nature. He hopes you enjoy the show!

Mila Ellis (senior) is beyond excited to play Miss Agatha Trunchbull in Matilda the Musical! This is the 7th production that she has performed in here at SDA. Previously she has been in Pippin (Player), The Play That Goes Wrong (Annie), Lost Girl (A), Spongebob the Musical (Mrs. Puff), Puffs (Hannah), and Miss Bates (Emma). As the Vice President of Thespians, she can typically be found in the theatre. However, when not in the theatre she is normally at Target with her friends, volunteering at a local community theatre, or watching movies with her two cats. She hopes that all of you Maggots enjoy this classic yet comedic musical!

Ainsley Elsner is 16 and a sophomore here at SDA. Matilda is her first musical at SDA, but she is excited to take part in many theater productions in the future. She was on the technical team of our last production, Spongebob the Musical, and loves the environment and the people involved, and hopes you enjoy the show as much as she does!

Maya Faris (junior) is 17 years old and is so excited for this production! SHe was in Emma as Jane Fairfax and The Qeeens Guard as Oswen, but has never been in a musical and is looking forward to stepping out of her comfort zone and exploring a whole new style of theater. Outside of theater, she loves to play soccer, read, and play australian rules football with her friend Hannah Rolnick. She hopes that you enjoy this performance of Matilda Musical and is so excited for the production!!

Aiden Fox is 18 years old and in grade twelve. He has performed two shows in the past: Peter Rabbit and The Mars Play. Outside of Theatre, he enjoys spikeball with friends, blacksmithing in the metal shop, and failing to write working code. He is very excited to perform for you tonight!

Elena Garcia is an 18 years old and is a senior. She appeared in the previous of Pipin, which she really enjoyed. When she is not preforming, she is writing, reading, watching videos, drawing, chrocheting, cooking, baking, or playing video games.

Scout Hoppas is 16 years old and a 10th grader at SDA. She could not be happier to be a part of Matilda. Other SDA productions Scout has took part in include The Play That Goes Wrong (publicity crew), The One Act Festival (actor/director), Cabaret Night (performer), and Puffs (Sally Perks). She has also performed in numerous local theatre productions throughout North County. Scout would like to thank Ms Siers for this opportunity as well as her wonderful cast and crew mates for making this such a wonderful experience. She hopes you enjoy the show!

Samantha Kates is 16 years old and a Junior. This is her 11th musical overall, but her second production with SDA. Some of her past productions include Peter Pan(OT) Matilda Jr(PP) Spongebob(SDA) Into the Woods(OT), and Something Rotten(OT). She is thrilled to get the opportunity to be in Matilda for her third time and make her 11-year-old dream of playing Matilda come true. She would like to thank all her friends, family, and past directors for all their support over the years! Always remember even if you’re little you can do a lot!

Jeremiah Kurle-Marcotte is a junior, and this is his sixth SDA theater production. He played Doctor in the 2023 SDA production of Lost Girl, played Cutch in SDA’s production of the Queen's Guard, and was Frank Churchill in last semester's production of Emma. He was on the set construction crew for the Queen's Guard last year, was lead carpenter for SDA’s miss electricity as well as lighting crew for Lost Girl. He currently plays Sergei in SDA's production of Matilda. Outside of theater, he enjoys reading, board and video games, and working out. He is very excited to be a part of another SDA show.

Emerging from a four year hibernation, Conan the newly-made adult senior steps foot upon the battlefield of theater once more. While they debuted as a techie in Spongebob and acted in the Puffs ensemble, Matilda will be both their first and last musical at the SDA theater. Even as they approach the bittersweet end to this journey, they couldn’t be more excited to embark on one final hurrah with this school’s theater company.

Erica Livesey is 17 years old; a junior at SDA, and is thrilled to be a part of Matilda: The Musical ensemble as a little kid!! This is her fifth time acting in an SDA show with past productions including the 2021 SDA One-Acts, Spongebob: The Musical, The Queen’s Guard, and Miss Electricity. She has also worked behind the scenes in several past productions as a part of makeup and hair crew for Clue and The Play That Goes Wrong, and makeup and hair designer for The Queen’s Guard, PUFFS, Emma, and Miss Electricity. Outside of the theater, she loves to dance and go to Target!! She is very excited for you to see this show and hopes you enjoy it!!

Curren Martin is 16 years old and a Junior at SDA. She thinks it is a MIRACLE to be performing in Matilda as it's been a dream since she was young! You may have previously seen her in Emma as Harriet Smith, Puffs as The Narrator, The Queen’s Guard as Julianne, SpongeBob the Musical as an Electric Skate, and The Play That Goes Wrong as Sandra! Outside of theater, she enjoys film, writing, and gaming! She hopes you enjoy the show, and always remember: looks are better than books!

Aidan McCarty is 15 years old and in 9th grade, he has already done a production in the SDA theater as Wayne Hopkins in puffs. He has done plenty of musicals outside of school but this would be the first serious musical inside school. He has loved working with the SDA theater and the people there as well so he is very exited to see what's in store in the future. Aidan enjoys writing stories and hanging out with friends but also partakes in singing and acting. He is very exited to perform again and have fun putting on an amazing show for everyone, he is so thankful for every experience he has had in SDA theater and the ones to come.

Mae McClave is 17 years old and a junior, and is so incredibly excited to be a part of Matilda the Musical!! The Acrobat is one of her absolute dreamroles and she is thrilled for the opportunity to play her. Mae has been a part of 7 productions at SDA since her freshman year, including The Play That Goes Wrong, Cabaret Night, Spongebob, Emma, and Miss Electricity. When she is not acting, you can find Mae in the scene shop working to design and paint sets for other SDA productions, or at home playing with her dog Bowie. She is so proud of the hard work that everyone has put into this show, and she hopes you enjoy it!

Harvey Parsons is thrilled to be apart of Matilda for his last SDA show! When he isnt performing, he spends his time with Comedy Sportz trying to make people laugh.

Lucia Pederson, junior, is so excited to play Eric in Matilda the Musical! Matilda is one of their favorite childhood books and she is so happy to be a part of Roald Dahl’s magical world. Lucia has previously been a part of TPTGW, The SpongeBob Musical, Puffs, Emma, and Miss Electricity for various acting and tech roles. Outside of the theater, she enjoys listening to music, reading, and laughing a bunch with her friends and family. She hopes you have the best time and thoroughly enjoy this R-E-V-O-L-T-I-N-G show!

Taylor Rohrbaugh is 16 years old and in eleventh grade. Matilda is her 5th stage production at SDA and 10th production overall. She has also done tech for the shows Clue, Emma, and Mrs. Electricity. When not doing things in the theater she also loves to dance, bake, and jam out to Taylor Swift music. She is so excited and hopes you enjoy the show!

Bri Rowe is 15 years old a sophomore at SDA, and is incredibly thrilled to be a part of Matilda! Other than Matilda, Bri has been a part of 4 other productions at SDA, including Puffs, The Queen's Guard, SpongeBob the Musical, and The Play That Goes Wrong! Outside of school, Bri has done productions with North Coast Repertory Theatre, La Jolla Playhouse, and many other local industries and commercials. When she is not in the theater, Bri loves to draw, roller skate, crochet, write, waterboard, and take care of her two venus fly traps. Bri is so excited for this wonderful opportunity and acts with so many incredible actors even though they all get up to naughty behavior sometimes.

Carlin Smith is beyond thrilled to be in Matilda at SDA! Other credits include: High School Musical (Troy), Addams Family (Lucas), One Act Festival 2023 (Tasha), Peter Pan (Slightly), and Urinetown (Officer Barrel). Carlin would like to thank the fabulous cast, crew, and creative team for being an absolute dream to work with. When not in the theater, Carlin is doing Comedy Sportz or sleeping. They hope you enjoy the show!

Ari Trette is 18 years old and a senior at SDA. This marks her 7th production with SDA Theatre! She is totally pumped to be playing Mrs. Phelps in Matilda! Ari also has experience working with Write Out Loud, North Coast Rep, and Trinity Theatre Company. This past summer she trained in the La Jolla Playhouse Young Performers Conservatory. In her free time, Ari loves embroidery, art, and hanging out with her dog, Titi. She hopes you enjoy this super fun show!

Ayda Walsey is a senior, and this will be her seventh and last show at SDA. Previously, she has performed in Pippin, Puffs, and another production of Matilda the Musical! Besides being on stage, Ayda has also taken up numerous tech roles including scenic charge artist, assistant stage manager, and sound board operator. When not in the theater, Ayda enjoys roller skating, thrift shopping, painting, and listening to music. She is excited to be performing with a talented cast and crew, and hopes you enjoy the show!

Ava Welcher is ecstatic to be playing Miss Honey in Matilda. You may have seen her recently as Mrs. Weston in Emma, Perch Perkins in The Spongebob Musical, or B in Lost Girl. As for tech, she student directed for Clue: On Stage and Puffs, and has been an ASM for Clue: On Stage, Little Women, several One Act Festivals, and Miss Electricity. She’s also the Thespian President, Co-President of Film Club, and has held office in ASB. This is her very last show at SDA, so she hopes you love all of the excitement and magic!

Leila Zeglen is 17 years old and a junior at SDA. She is so beyond thrilled to be playing the role of Tommy in Matilda, her first ever SDA musical! Some of her other roles at SDA include Harry Potter in PUFFS, Connie-Can’t-Do in Miss Electricity, and Hench/Jenken in The Queen’s Guard. Aside from theatre, Leila loves writing, painting, singing, listening to music, and consuming theme park content on YouTube. She is so thankful for the cast and crew and is ready for a miracle of a show!
