James Martinez Salem (he/him) is an award-winning queer composer, lyricist, bookwriter, and screenwriter of Puerto Rican/Syrian Jewish descent based in NYC. James and collaborator Jessie Field have written Charlotte Lucas is 27 and Not Dead, a two-time NAMT Finalist & Festival Committee Recommendation and Winner of the Musicals Now Competition, and Ziggy, Stardust & Me, a commissioned adaptation that was the inaugural production at the Prebys Theatre and workshopped at Diversionary Theatre in San Diego.
