Celebrating the 250th anniversary of the writing and adoption of the Declaration of Independence, the PTPA is very pleased to be presenting the ORIGINAL musical of American Independence, 1776!

1776 puts a human face on the pages of history as we see the men behind the larger-than-life figures of founding fathers John Adams, Benjamin Franklin, Thomas Jefferson, and others who helped forge this nation, in a musical that is at turns funny, insightful, and compelling, with a striking score and legendary script.

Since 1997 the Pennsylvania Theatre of Performing Arts has provided a venue for talented actors, musicians, and dancers to entertain local audiences in the greater Hazleton area. Our award-winning volunteer organization has mounted hundreds of productions ranging from classic and contemporary Broadway musicals and plays to children's productions and camps.
