Stephanie Yu (TSUBAME)Stephanie began acting in 2022 through Triangle Sketch Comedy. Since then, she has participated in multiple sketch shows, short films, dinner theater performances, and a local production of Terrence McNally's Corpus Christi. She works as an engineer and clinical researcher in women's health. In her free time, she trains as a competitive powerlifter and jiu-jitsu martial artist.
Katie Bolanos (SORA/JAPANESE YŪREI)Katie Bolaños has been looking forward to the role of Sora all year. Half-Asian herself, the story of Tsubame and Jeannie is both relatable and personal. Past favorite credits include Evelyn Nesbit in Ragtime (McGregor Hall), Ellie in Freaky Friday (Gallery Players), Yvette in Clue: On Stage (Cary Players), Minstrel in Something Rotten (Stone Soup), Carol Henderson in Decision Height (Studio 1), and Ann Deever in All My Sons (Studio 1). Olivia Silber Ashley (JEANNIE)Olivia Silber Ashley is excited to make her debut at OdysseyStage in this beautiful, complicated, and moving play about compassion, family, and transition at the end of life. Olivia has played community theater roles in Benson, Cary, Garner, Henderson, and Raleigh, including the role of Gail in Moon Glo by Patsy Clarke. Olivia thanks her husband Steve and her son Ben, who knows how to eat with chopsticks, for making home where the people who love her are.
Candace Spencer (ANITA)Candace Spencer received her BA in theatre at Greensboro College (GC) in 2019. While at GC, she studied abroad for 6 months in London, UK to further learn about theatre as well as dance. After undergrad, she immediately went to grad school and earned her MFA at UofL in December of 2023. Candace is very passionate about theatre and wants to thank her family for their continued support and God for His strength through the many obstacles that have come her way.
Dylan Bailey (CHAPLAIN / PUPPETEER)Dylan Bailey is an actor, playwright, stage manager, and teaching artist. He works extensively throughout the Triangle Area as a teaching artist. He’s acted in recent years with Seed Art Share, Aggregate Theatre Company, Theatre in the Park, Burning Coal Theatre, Pure Life Theatre, Sweet Tea Shakespeare, and the Justice Theater Project. He served as Seed Art Share’s Education Director and before that as its Managing Director for several years and he loves writing plays for young audiences!
Deb Teitelbaum (BONNIE)Shinsei marks Deb's first appearance with Odyssey Stage. Most recently, she served as the dialect coach on Brigadoon at Cary Players. Raleigh audiences may recognize her as Celia from NRACT's recent production of Calendar Girls or Mother in RLT's staging of Blood Wedding, for which she received a Canty Award. Other favorite roles from her Chicago acting days include Beatrice in A View From the Bridge (Steppenwolf Theater) and Suzie in Hot L Baltimore (Raven Theater).
