The Play That Goes Wrong Cast
Liam Cooley (Trevor)Liam is a junior at NMHS and is happy to be a cast member in his very first play! After enjoying his experience as an ensemble member in NMHS Theatre’s musical, Legally Blonde: The Musical last spring, Liam was eager to become a member of the fall play as well. He is a local performer playing guitar and singing covers as well as original songs. Liam is a member of the Key Club, National Honor Society, and is the secretary for the Spanish Honor Society. Involving himself in the NMHS Theatre program inspired Liam to join NMHS Chorus, which he enjoys, and find a new love in theatre performances and music. He has also made new friends that he is extremely grateful for. Liam would like to thank Mr. Amenta who has guided him through the art of theater performing, and also Mr. McNulty who has helped him grow as a singer and student. He wants to thank the crew, cast, and the entire team that helped put this play together. Finally, Liam would like to send a huge thank you to all of his friends who have been there for him, supported him, laughed with him, and changed him into the performer he is today.
Ash Diaz (Annie)Ash, a junior, is thrilled to play Annie in the high school’s production of The Play That Goes Wrong: High School Edition! She joined the NMHS Theatre program in last fall’s The Crucible and is now in her second year with the program. Ash has been involved in theater for five years and in music for as long as she can remember. Her past roles include Cinderella in Into the Woods (6th grade), the Genie in Aladdin Jr. (7th grade), and Charlie Bucket in Willy Wonka Jr. (8th grade). Last spring, she played Chutney in Legally Blonde: The Musical. In her free time, Ash enjoys photography, reading, singing, and—most especially—acting! She would like to thank Mr. Amenta for his dedication and for creating such a safe, welcoming space for everyone. Special thanks go to Ms. Kelly, Ms. Chamberlain, Ms. Roy, Ms. DeVerger, Mr. Ongley, and most importantly, Mr. McNulty, for their incredible support and commitment to their students. Ash also thanks her friends for making every experience more fun, and the cast and crew for giving their all to this show. Finally, she thanks her mother and sister for always believing in her and pushing her to be her best. Her mom is her best friend, biggest supporter, and her whole world—she wouldn’t be where she is today without her!
Scott Spinner (Chris)Scott is thrilled to kick off his senior year in NMHS Theatre with
The Play That Goes Wrong: High School Edition. His previous roles include Cedric/Voldy in Puffs, John Proctor in The Crucible, and Professor Callahan in Legally Blonde: The Musical. He serves as saxophone section leader in the NMHS Band and plays tenor sax in both the Jazz Band and Wind Ensemble. Scott is also treasurer of the National Honor Society and Key Club, and a Wingman student leader. In his free time, he enjoys listening to music, reading, and learning languages. He thanks his friends and family for their constant support, his cast and crew for their hard work, Mr. Zwart for his incredible guidance and technical skill, and Mr. Amenta for his tireless effort in creating such amazing productions.
Davi Cabrera (Jonathan)Davi is a junior at New Milford High School and is excited to be performing in this production with NMHS Theatre. Having recently moved to New Milford from New York near the end of his sophomore year, this show marks his debut with the NMHS Theatre community. Davi has been involved in theater since eighth grade and has previously performed roles such as Lysander in A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Travis/Uncle Wes in Footloose, and Slank in Peter and the Starcatcher. He also enjoys singing in the NMHS Chorus and hopes to continue pursuing theater after high school. Davi would like to thank NMHS Theatre for being such a warm and welcoming community. Joshua Violette (Robert)Josh,a junior, is so happy to be in his third play at New Milford High School. Josh has previously appeared in NMHS Theatre’s production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream as Theseus/Oberon, The Little Mermaid as Flounder, The Crucible as Giles Corey, and Legally Blonde: The Musical as Carlos. Josh also enjoys singing in the NMHS Chorus. He has enjoyed acting with TheatreWorks Kids in New Milford for the last eight years with some of his favorite roles being, the Scarecrow in
The Wizard Of Oz and Cogsworth in Disney’s Beauty And The Beast. This past summer, Josh appeared in TheatreWorks’ ACT OUT program playing Ricky in Ride The Cyclone. He has also appeared in the Main Stage production at TheatreWorks as Theo in Pippin and also in the Main Stage reading of House Rules. He has also taken part in Miss Beth’s Spotlight program at Brookfield Theatre for the past two summers, playing Ram’s Dad/Hipster Dork in Heathers and Travis/Coach Dunbar in Footloose. Josh is very appreciative of his friends and family for all they do for him, especially his parents. Josh would also like to thank Mr. Amenta, Mr. Zwart, Mr. Durr, Mr. McNulty, the wonderful stage managers, and the entire cast and crew!
Richard Gregory (Dennis)Richard, a junior at NMHS, is so excited to be playing Dennis in
The Play That Goes Wrong: High School Edition. Richard is no stranger to theater, having been involved in 40+ theatre productions in the greater New Milford area! Some of his favorite roles include: Noel (Ride The Cyclone), Jack (Into The Woods), Willard Hewitt (Footloose), Donkey(Shrek), Francis Nurse (The Crucible), and Friar Lawrence (Romeo & Juliet). Outside of theater, Richard makes costumes for local theatre productions, writes, and does multiple extracurriculars such as secretary of the Class of 2027 and social media manager for both the A.S.I.A Club and NMHS Chorus. He is also a member of The French and National Honor Societies. Richard would like to thank the crew for the amazing behind-the-scenes work, as well as Mr. Amenta, Mr. Zwart, Ms.Titus, and Mr. McNulty for their hard work. He would also like to thank his mother for making/sourcing the props you see on the stage and his fellow castmates (shoutout to Ash for helping him get off-book). Carly Geier (Sandra)Carly, a senior, is in her third play with NMHS Theatre. She loves to draw, write, sing and act. You may have seen Carly dancing and acting in previous NMHS Theatre productions including Mamma Mia!, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, The Little Mermaid, The Crucible, and
Legally Blonde: The Musical. Carly wants to thank all of her peers for uplifting her and making The Play That Goes Wrong: High School Edition such a fun production to be in, as well as her family who will be cheering (quietly of course!) from the audience. She also wants to thank Mr. Amenta and all of the staff and stage managers for working so hard to make this production possible and for pushing everyone to be the best actors they can be!
Curran Palancia (Max)Curran is a sophomore at New Milford High School. He is so excited to participate in his third show with NMHS Theatre! For this production of The Play That Goes Wrong: High School Edition, he is playing the role of Max (Cecil and Arthur). Some of Curran’s past roles include, Reverend John Hale (The Crucible), Elle’s Dad (Legally Blonde: The Musical), Richie (13, The Musical), Robertson Ay (Mary Poppins), Sailor (Anything Goes), Harold Hill (The Music Man), Willy Wonka (Charlie and The Chocolate Factory, Jr.), The Big Bad Wolf (The Quest), a member of The Our Time Cabaret (Stagedoor Manor), Ryan (High School Musical), and George (Finding Neverland). Curran is also a member of the NMHS Advanced Chorus, Tenor/Bass Chorus, and plays on the Lacrosse team. He would like to give a huge thanks to his parents as well as the directors, cast, and crew for helping put together this amazing show—he hopes you enjoy it!

The Crucible,TV Reporter/ensemble in Legally Blonde: The Musical, and Eleanor Dunbar in Footloose. Her pastimes are a love of reading, writing, and painting. Peytynn would like to thank the cast and crew for all their hard work and for making the experience fun and special! Peytynn would also like to thank Mr. Amenta for all of his time and dedication to the show and for the constant opportunities he provides for everyone! Josep DiGuiseppi (Cornley Drama Society Stage Crew Ensemble)Josep is a junior at New Milford High School and excited to perform in this year’s fall play, The Play That Goes Wrong: High School Edition. His previous roles include Egeus in A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Judge Hawthorne in The Crucible, Nikos Argitakos in Legally Blonde: The Musical, and his favorite role, Chef Louis/Pilot in The Little Mermaid. Josep plays trumpet and viola in the NMHS Band and Orchestra and participates in Team Waramaug, the French and National Honor Societies, Wingman, Key Club, and is a varsity track and field athlete. In his free time, he enjoys music, working out, hanging out with friends, and practicing martial arts. Lindsay Haleks (Cornley Drama Society Stage Crew Ensemble)Lindsay, a senior, is excited for her last year with NMHS Theatre and for The Play That Goes Wrong: High School Edition, her second and final play at NMHS. She has done theatre for four years including being on stage crew while at Schaghticoke for The Claw (2022), an ensemble member in Mamma Mia! (2023) and The Little Mermaid (2024), Ann Putnam in The Crucible (2024), and finally ensemble for Legally Blond:, The Musical (2025). Lindsay would love to thank all of the directors and adults involved with this show including Mr. Amenta, Mr. Zwart, and Ms. Titus for all their time and dedication to this show. She would also like to thank every single student involved in the cast and crew because it wouldn’t be possible without their time and dedication.
Mia Marchena (Cornley Drama Society Stage Crew Ensemble)Mia, a junior, is more than excited to be participating in NMHS Theatre’s fall production of The Play That Goes Wrong: High School Edition. This is Mia’s third year with the high school’s theater program and she has participated in music programs for nine years! Mia’s theater journey began in seventh grade when she played the role of Aiden the Dragon in The Claw. As a freshman, she was fortunate enough to play the role of Arista in The Little Mermaid and Veronica’s Mom in Heathers. As a sophomore, she played the role of Serena in
Legally Blonde: The Musical and also had roles as Constance in
Ride The Cyclone, and Wendy Jo in Footloose. When she’s not on stage, Mia enjoys reading and spending time with friends and family. She would love to give a huge thanks to Mr. Amenta, Mr. McNulty, and Mr. Zwart for making this show possible, as well as the entire cast and crew for making this such an unforgettable experience.
Melanie Mendoza (Cornley Drama Society Stage Crew Ensemble)Melanie, a junior, is very excited to be a part of her first play with NMHS Theatre! Melanie has previously appeared as Margot in the high school’s production of Legally Blonde: The Musical and Atina in
The Little Mermaid. Over the summer, Melanie played Cowboy Bob in Footloose and, in a few months, she will be playing Wednesday Addams in Brookfield Theatre’s production of The Addams Family. Outside of theater, Melanie enjoys writing her own songs and playing piano. Melanie is so thankful for all of the support she receives from her friends and family. She especially wants to thank Mr. Amenta, Mr. McNulty, Mr. Zwart, and the entire cast and crew for all of the hard work they have done for this program!
Jaran Mershon (Cornley Drama Society Stage Crew)Jaran is a freshman at New Milford High School and is very excited to be acting in his first production ever! Jaran enjoys singing in the NMHS Chorus and also plays golf on the high school’s JV Golf team. His interest in theater started at Schaghticoke Middle School, where he was the light board operator for two shows, How The Grinch Stole Christmas and A Christmas Carol. During his free time, Jaran likes to golf, listen to music, and play guitar. His favorite kind of music to play and listen to is metal. Jaran would like to thank his family and everyone involved in the theater program for welcoming him to NMHS Theatre! Amber Pedersen (Cornley Drama Society Stage Crew)Amber is a senior who has been a member of the NMHS Theatre since her freshman year, beginning with the play Puffs. She began her love of theatre while in eighth grade with the Brookfield Theatre for The Arts, where she portrayed the Sour Kangaroo in Seussical Jr. Amber is thrilled to be performing in The Play That Goes Wrong: High School Edition , as it has been her wish since sophomore year! She can’t wait for you to see how much hard work and dedication the cast and crew have put into this production to make it amazing!! Amber would like to thank Mr. Amenta, Mr. McNulty, and Mr. Zwart for their commitment and enthusiasm for this play and the positive energy they fill this theater with everyday!!! Enjoy the show!!
Carter Pullen (Cornley Drama Society Stage Crew)Carter is feeling sentimental as he takes part in his fourth and final show with NMHS Theatre. He first appeared in Puffs (2022) as part of the ensemble—playing roles from his favorite, Goyle, to even a bathtub—and later joined the stage crew for Mamma Mia! (2023). That same year, he played Robin Starveling in A Midsummer Night’s Dream and joined the ensemble for The Little Mermaid (2024). His most recent roles include Thomas Putnam in The Crucible (2024) and Lowell/ensemble in Legally Blonde: The Musical (2025). Carter thanks everyone who supported him—his friends (special shout-out to Beau Berisha), family, especially his dad and brother Dice, fellow performers, and the crew. He also gives special thanks to Mr. Amenta, Mr. Zwart, Ms. Titus, and Mrs. Holm, who inspired his love of theater. On a final note, he says, “Hi Dice! I’ve been writing you little notes since freshman year—end of an era, isn’t it?”
El Woodcock (Cornley Drama Society Stage Crew)El, a junior, is in her second play with NMHS Theatre. She has loved theatre since she was younger and now as a teenager, she is living her dream of being on stage. In her first-ever play last fall, she played the part of Rebecca Nurse in The Crucible. Prior to NMHS Theatre, her only experience in theater was in middle school and one community theater that, unfortunately, was shut down due to Covid. El was hopeful that when she started at New Milford High School, she would be given the opportunity to perform again! She is thankful to Mr. Amenta for giving her the chance to do what she loves.
