About Les Miserables

Les Misérables is one of the world’s longest-running and most beloved musicals—a true modern classic based on Victor Hugo’s novel and featuring one of the most memorable scores of all time. Since its London premiere in 1985, this multi-award-winning musical has continued to captivate audiences around the globe.

Set in nineteenth-century France, Les Misérables follows Jean Valjean, a man released after years of unjust imprisonment who seeks redemption while being relentlessly pursued by the unyielding Inspector Javert. Against the backdrop of the 1832 Paris student uprising, Valjean’s journey intersects with revolutionaries, lost souls, and young love, culminating in powerful choices about justice, mercy, and hope.
