Mary Lou Conaway
Mary Lou Conaway retired in 2015 and then returned to the theater, directing “Love Letters” in 2018 followed by productions of “The Tin Woman” and “Almost, Maine,” plus several radio plays. For a return to acting, Mary Lou was cast in the mystery dinner theater “Revenge at the Reunion” and had rolls in two of the radio plays she directed. Mary Lou lives just 3 miles from where she grew up in Parkville. She graduated from Mt. Iron High School where she was involved with speech and drama activities in Mask and Gavel. Mary Lou earned a Bachelor of Science degree in speech and theater arts from Bemidji State College after earning her AA degree at Mesabi State Junior College where she changed from instrumental music to theater. While in school there was participation in plays (cast, student director, director, stage crew), competitive speech teams; also 4-H Share the Fun, plus a year as radio announcer on the college station in Bemidji. Mary Lou lives with her husband and enjoys spending time with family all over the country, especially with her daughter and 2 grandsons in Proctor; and son, daughter-in-law and grandson in St. Louis Park.
