Tommy Varela-Kossak is a proud Kayhi alum. After graduating from Kayhi in 2015, he went to college in Chicago and received his BA in Theatre. After working in Chicago with theatres including About Face Theatre, Other Theatre, and more he decided to continue his education journey. Tommy earned his Masters in Teaching from UAS in 2021 and was offered a job at Kayhi! Tommy has enjoyed building this program and is so thankful to have students who are dedicated and love this artform, Kayhi Drama Kings exists because of them.

Elaina was born and raised in Ketchikan. She has been a part of theatre since she was 9. Her first role was as Young Fiona in Shrek the Musical Jr. with first city players. Since then she has found a love for singing and theatre. Her most recent roles have been Elsa in Frozen Jr and Agatha Trunchbull in Matilda Jr with first city players. Elaina is the secretary of the Kayhi Drama Kings and is excited to grow with the club through the rest of her high school experience.

Melody was born and raised in Ketchikan, Alaska for the last 18 years. She started doing theater when she was 6 years old, where she played in an ensemble in Oklahoma for First City Players. Her Junior year she played Chadwick in Elf the Musical, as well as Buster Blue in Spongebob the Musical. In her most recent plays, she played Uncle Dave and others in Puffs or Seven Increasingly Eventful Years at a Certain School of Magic and Magic, plus Phil and Glory in Almost Maine. She is also behind the scenes helping design the lights for James and the Giant Peach.

Trisha is 15 and has lived in Ketchikan, Alaska since she was very little, she was originally born is Scottsdale, Arizona. Trisha’s first experience with theater was in the second grade in the Seussical as a fish for ensemble. Trisha is excited to try something new and expand her knowledge of drama. Almost, Maine is on of her first plays and she is excited to do her first role at Kayhi playing as East.

Kylie Parker was born in San Diego, California, after years of living in different places she and her family finally settle in Ketchikan. For as long as she could remember she’s had a love of theater. Kylie has been in, Journey into the West (as the Moon Goddess’s bodyguard), Cryno De Bergerac, (as Cryno) and even Twelfth Night, Modern adaptation (as Feste and Olivia). After taking a 3 year break from drama, Kylie is very excited to spend her senior year doing something she truly enjoys.

Leo sonata Powell was born on September 8th 2007 in Flagstaff, AZ, and is currently a freshman at Ketchikan high. They had only recently joined the drama and theater community as a class and they have already been a part of two plays including Almost,Maine and puffs. For puffs leo did backstack working on props, making sets, and moving sets during the play. Leo is hardworking, funny, and committed to Almost, Maine and Kayhi Dram Kings.

Gilbert caught the theatre bug after starring in 9to5 this past fall. He is now trying his hand at stage management and has found his new passion. Gilbert plans on pursuing a career in stage management after he retires. #DramaGrandpa4Life

Chayslyn has grown up in Ketchikan since she was 2 years old. She has performed in KTB, KDC, Kayhi Concert Choir, as well as Kayhi Vocal Jazz. Her first ever Kayhi Drama theatrical production was Spongebob The Musical 2022. Chayslyn plans on staying an active member in Kayhi Drama for the rest of highschool, and wishes to go to a Cosmetology college with a strong theatre program. She would also like to give a thanks to her mom Meg, her dad Joe, step mom Teresa, Grandma Denise, and her siblings.
