Welcome and Special Thanks

Welcome back to another KC Melting Pot Theatre production of an August Wilson classic, Two Trains Running. This play is the 7th installment in Wilson’s American Century Cycle, a ten-play series that beautifully captures the African American experience in America during the twentieth century, decade by decade.  KCMPT is excited to be in the ranks of theaters, institutions, and artists all over the world who are committed to upholding the performance and legacy of the American Century Cycle.  In the tradition of the West African griot, we are honored to tell these stories and be caretakers of this important work.

Thank you to our amazing cast and crew who worked tirelessly to bring this story to life.  Your dedication and commitment is reflected in your work, and the ancestors are smiling.

Thank you so much to all of our faithful audience members, season ticket holders, and donors who continue to support us.  Thank you for being a part of the KCMPT family.  Please accept our invitation to join us for every show and help us sell out our entire season!

Sincerely,

Melonnie Walker, KCMPT Director of Education and Community Outreach
