Michael Mansfield received his B.S. from James Madison University and his M.A. in education from Virginia Tech. He has performed and directed with a wide variety of local arts organizations, including Mill Mountain Theatre, Showtimers, Opera Roanoke, Gamut, Roanoke Ballet Theatre, Roanoke Children’s Theatre, Little Town Players, Off The Rails, Hollins, and Virginia Western Community College. He has also provided technical support (lighting, sound, and video design) to many local theatres, and has created videos for Hollins, Kimoyo, Mill Mountain, and Roanoke Children’s Theatre.

Faolan Timm is a senior theatre and creative writing major. His directing credits include Our Family in the Stars and Rocky Horror 2022. He creates in the pursuit of wonder and he hopes you enjoy this show!

Shelby Love currently serves as production manager and technical coordinator for the Hollins theatre department. A professional stage manager for over 18 years, credits include Sundance Institute Theatre Lab, Irish Repertory Theatre, ArtsPower National Touring Theatre, Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park, Mill Mountain Theatre, and the Wick Theatre. Shelby holds an M.F.A. in playwriting from Hollins University’s Playwright’s Lab.

Anna (they/them) is honored to be assistant stage managing this amazing show. They are a junior elementary education major and theatre minor. Some Hollins credits include Marketing Manager for Our Family in The Stars, Box Office Manager for Constellations and acting as Bumble in Bumble’s Big Adventure.

Sterling Cullinane (they/them) is a sophomore theater major. They previously played Dimitri in Our Family in the Stars, Audrey in Yellow and Black in The Seven Lives of Audrey Munson and handled microphones for Goodnight Moon. They are also a playwright, and wrote The Scottish (Vampire) Play with El Rowland for the 2024 24 Hour Play Festival. They thank the cast and crew for their endless support and enthusiasm and look forward to sharing the show with everyone!

Mary Zaengle is a senior at Hollins University, working towards a Bachelor of Arts in theatre. Originally from upstate New York, they have worked on the set build crew, run crew, and other tech positions for several productions at Hollins, including All The Natalie Portmans and Everybody. Mary has also worked as dramaturg on the development and production of Gwyneth Strope's award winning play, Chrysalis, and Ben Abbott’s new play, Nuptial Mass.

Arne Johnson has worked in theatre for 35 years in prop shops, scene shops, and design studios, where he drafted, designed, and constructed, most recently for Tantrum Theater and the School of Theater at Ohio University. He’s an accomplished scenic sculptor specializing in large carved forms and specialty construction projects. He has also worked in construction shops learning building techniques including: decorative Victorian mill-work, 3D printing and silicone mold making, bronze casting, and 3D modeling for virtual and augmented realities. Arne earned his B.A. in studio art in sculpture at Humboldt State University and his M.F.A. in studio art in sculpture and digital media from University of California at Santa Barbara. His recent artistic works are investigating 3D printing, laser cutting, and experimenting with biodegradable and recycled materials.

Moneé Stamp is a 2nd generation Caribbean immigrant born and raised in Long Island, New York. She received her BFA from Savannah College of Art and Design and her MFA from Ohio University. Moneé is an established, award-winning Lighting Designer with a keen eye for detail and a passion for transforming spaces through light. She states, the ability to tell unique stories through design is an example of how Theatre is a medium to express oneself. It has the power to make people laugh or cry, learn new things, empathize or sympathize and to encourage people to think about life. Recently, she designed The Black That I am (Braata Productions), The Amen Corner (The Lovinger Theatre), and 25th annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, (Epic Players NYC).

Suellen Coelho, a feminist scholar and artist, is the Assistant Professor of Costume Design at the University of Louisiana. She earned her M.F.A. in costume design at L.S.U., where her research focused on identity and the African diaspora, which drove her MFA project on second line groups in New Orleans. She graduated in clothing production in her home country, Brazil, where she was a costume designer for various Brazilian artistic works in fashion, music, and audiovisual media. Prior to her current position, Suellen joined the Hollins University theatre department in the fall of 2021 as the resident costume designer and assistant professor, where she was awarded Best Non-Tenure Track Professor of 2022. In her teaching career, she has taught courses in costume design, costume construction, stage makeup, and costume/props-related and special topics in theatre. Her feminist perspective and research on identity and the African diaspora continue to enrich her teaching and design work, bringing a unique and informed approach to her role in academia and the theatre world.

Hayes is a senior undergraduate here at Hollins. They have done sound design work for the 2024 Winter Festival as well as numerous senior thesis. They are excited to be a part of this production!

Sofia Craig is a junior theatre major. Sofia’s recent credits include Winterfest 2024 sound board operation and sound design for Beautiful Noise. They would like to thank their family and friends for their support!

Nelson Barre is a recently tenured Associate Professor at Roanoke College where he runs the Theatre program. He teaches courses in Theatre History, Directing, Dramaturgy, Musical Theatre, Performance Ethics, and Race in Theatre. Over the past two decades, Nelson has dramaturged and directed productions wherever he has been. Recent favorites include Stupid Fucking Bird, Cabaret, Mac Beth, and Bodas de Sangre/Blood Wedding. Nelson received his PhD in Drama and Theatre Studies from the University of Galway, where he completed a dissertation on Ritual, Memory, and Performance in the works of Enda Walsh. He has published many articles and chapters on Walsh's work but has recently shifted his research to focus on contemporary theatre and dramaturgy practices, particularly those related to race, canon, and adaptation. Nelson also currently serves as the Dramaturgy Coordinator for Region IV of the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival.

Savannah Bower is making her Hollins University debut as Professor of Costumes and Costume Shop Manager. She is a costuming professional with ten years of experience in theatres and organizations such as The University of Lynchburg, The Illinois Shakespeare Festival, Endstation Theatre Company, and The American Shakespear Center, as well as an active member of IATSE with Local 55. Savannah is very excited to begin this journey at Hollins with all of you!

Sara Clark has been doing costumes at Hollins for the past three years and is so excited to kick off her senior year with In Bloom! She spent her Summer at CATF as part of the costume staff and is currently costume designing two shows outside of Hollins! She is so excited to be part of this project and to share this work with you!

Katie McBride is a junior Theatre major at Hollins University. They have previously stage managed Chrysalis and Our Family in the Stars and are very excited to be marketing assistant for In Bloom!

Troy Reed has recently taken over the theatre building. He is from Roanoke, VA. Troy is husband to Carla, father to Shan’e, Cierra, and Marcus, and is a child of God. When not working, he enjoys time with his wife, working in the yard, and washing their vehicles.

Gwyneth Strope is a graduate of the M.F.A. playwriting program at Hollins and the producing manager for the Hollins Theatre Institute. Based in Roanoke, Gwyneth holds a B.A. in theatre from James Madison University with concentrations in performance and teaching artistry. She writes and performs new works that envision, embody, and embolden the stories of women. Her most recently produced works are In Bloom, at Tesseract Theatre in St. Louis, and Chrysalis, at Hollins University. She is a proud member of the Dramatists Guild.

Alaya Lewis is a senior theatre major and creative writing minor. Some of their previous credits include Marianne in Constellations and stage managing Randi & Roxanne. They love their team and are excited to see the show brought to life!

Aurelia Burr is a junior and newly declared theatre major. This is her first time working on a production here at Hollins and she is excited to be learning the ropes!

Abbie Miller is a freshman biology major. In Bloom is her first time on a wardrobe team, and she is excited to gain new experience in her first Hollins main stage production.
