Lee Lue The Musical Creative

Director
Mr. Austin Ly
This is a story of courage, sacrifice, and hope. A story about what it means to be human. On stage, we witness choices that test us, moments that define us, and the strength that rises when we face the impossible. Bringing this story ot life has been a privilege and I am deeply proud of the dedication, talent and heart shown by our cast, crew, and scholars. Theatre has the power to connect us, to open our eyes, and to touch our hearts. I hope you leave tonight moved, inspired, and reminded of the courage within us all.

Mr. Kongmeng Yang
Kongmeng Yang is honored to serve as the Stage Crew Manager in LEE LUE THE MUSICAL. Kongmeng is sincerely grateful to the entire team of LEE LUE THE MUSICAL for welcoming him and making his time with the production so meaningful, even in such a short period. Because of his passion for acting and theatre, he extends special thanks to Mr. Austin Ly for giving him the opportunity to be part of the production. Stage Manager
Cassidy Thao
Cassidy Thao is a Senior and the Stage Manager for this production. She originally joined this musical because of her love for musicals. She expresses that she never saw herself as someone who performed in it but always helped behind the scenes. She was so lucky to get handed the role of stage manager to show her leadership and be able to meet the amazing cast and crew along the way. She found it challenging for herself to get out of her comfort zone to show her leadership skills to new people that she had never met before until this school year. Having a leadership role, itself was something new to her. It was something that she’s never done because she was never one to be a leader. She wants to thank the crew for being an amazing group of people to work with and able to help one another throughout these months of practice for the musical and all their hard work that they all have put into this. She especially wants to thank Mr.Ly and Ms.MacGregor for their hard work with running this whole production and their ideas, ensuring that the vision for Lee Lue is able to come alive and show the world our history. Cassidy also wants to thank them for believing in her to take this leadership position and trusting her with such a big role in this production, ensuring that she can make big decisions and lead.

Social Media Coordinator
Isaiah Yang
Isaiah Yang is currently a Sophomore who is the Social Media Coordinator for Lee Lue The Musical. This is his second year in musical theatre and has loved it since the beginning. His love for theatre started when he had his first theatre class in 7th grade with Mr. Ly! Getting to see the way Mr. Ly projected his voice and acted was very inspiring. From that point until Freshman year, he had not been in a theatre class, little did he know Lee Lue The Musical for 2024 was coming up. He would sign up and be given the opportunity to join the cast as a part of the ensemble! He loved the experience, building bonds with his upperclassmen especially as the only freshmen to make it in. These bonds were bonds that would last lifetimes. This year he would join the musical production once again. At first, he auditioned to be a cast member but as a cast member he found that he had a different interest, an interest that would combine both his love for musical theatre with his interest in business/marketing. After discussing with Mr. Ly, he would be given the role of Social Media Coordinator where he has the ability to maintain photography skills and manage the business aspects needed for the musical to function! He truly loves musical theatre and has loved working on productions like Lee Lue he Musical. Things that Isaiah does in his time outside of the musical are participating in Robotics, being the Key Club Treasurer, and being one of the 10th grade Student Representatives. He hopes that everyone will enjoy the musical production! He is thankful for his friends, parents, and coaches/advisors for aspiring him to be better and continue on with the production even if it conflicted with many events. He states, “ I'd like to thank Mr. Ly and Ms. Macgregor for giving me this opportunity to develop new relationships and allow me to be the best person I can truly be!”

Svetlana Her
Svetlana (Lana) is a Senior, and incoming freshman at Marquette University, studying international relations. Aside from politics and community justice, she has always had a love for the fine arts and theater, participating every year a musical is offered. From her position in Tech Crew during "Chi You: The Musical," to her roles as the Villain in last year's "Lee Lue: the Musical," Lana has always found a sense of purpose and community on the stage. This year she is thrilled to be the Creative Liaison for the musical, serving both set design and the cast throughout the year. Despite all the struggles this year, she remains ecstatic about the emotional performance her cast will deliver. It's been wonderful to see everyone grow and come out of their shell, while growing closer as a group and bringing the vision of "Lee Lue" to life. Lana wants to thank her younger sister--Lillia Her--for being an inspiration in musical theater, as she hopes to see Lillia perform in more musicals both in and out of school. Lana also wants to thank her parents for dealing with the late pick up times throughout the year.

Chloe Her
Chloe, a sophomore in high school this year, is part of the backstage crew. Initially, she was very nervous to meet the cast, and crew members, however she soon became familiar and thankful for their supportive and authentic presence. During her sophomore year, she had not fully stepped out of her comfort zone, so joining this production helped her develop! With the cast and crew, she has learned to be herself, and to put herself out there. She is truly grateful to be a part of this production, with such a kind group of people. This story has so much meaning to it, and she is so thankful that it has arisen in a play, where the audience can visualize her people’s history. She wants to thank Mr. Ly, for being so patient with her, since she had still so much to learn in the three weeks before the play. She would also like to thank Mr. Kongmeng, for being patient, humorous, kind, and understanding, figuring she’d have to learn everything within three weeks as a crew member. Additionally, Chloe would like to thank her parents for the unconditional amount of love and support they give her, and always prioritize her, her goals, and opportunities that will better her future!
