The Sound of Music Crew
Director
Jenna Horick This HHS alumna (Class of 1990) has performed countless times on stages across Southern Ohio. She has been involved in productions of West Side Story, Harvey, Annie, Biloxi Blues, The Laramie Project, and 9 to 5, to name a few. A graduate of both Southern State and Wilmington College, Jenna has taught math and science in Hillsboro City Schools for 27 years. She holds Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts degrees in Elementary Education.
Director
Jeff HorickJeff Horick was born in Albany, New York, raised in St. Petersburg, Florida, and he attended Northeast High School and Saint Petersburg College. Trained in Fight Choreography, Jeff has appeared onstage at Southern State Community College in Dracula, Pygmalion, Annie, Almost Maine, MacBeth, and By the Bog of Cats. He owns Brothers-In-Arms Jousting Troupe which performs at Renaissance Festivals and Medieval Faires all over the United States.
Musical Director
Laura Jacky This HHS alumna is the Choir Director at Hillsboro Middle School and High School. Laura directs the 7th- and 8th-grade choirs, Men’s Chorus, Women’s Chorus, and Symphonic Choir as well as teaches piano keyboarding. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education with an emphasis in Voice and Piano from Ohio Wesleyan University, and a Master’s Degree in Music Education from Boston University. Laura has previously performed roles in Pirates of Penzance, Gianni Schicchi, The Marriage of Figaro, She Loves Me, and The Music Man. She is also the past Director of the Highland County Children’s Chorus and the Cincinnati Children’s Youth Chorus Satellite Choir. Laura is married to Joe Jacky, also a teacher at HHS, and are the parents of Jonathan, Emma, Daniel, and Christopher Jacky.
Technical Director
Mark HolmesMark Holmes is the Technical and Crew Director for the production. Mark has been involved with theater his entire life. Mark has been involved in local productions and broadway productions.
Costume Director
Sandy CrueaSandy Cruea is the Costume Designer and Seamstress. A native of Dayton, she has made Hillsboro her home for 50 years. An accomplished seamstress for 60 years, Sandy designs, creates, and alters wedding dresses, casual clothes, and everything in between.
Stage Manager/Light Technician
Garen RyanGaren is a Senior at Hillsboro High School. The son of Michelle and Kelly Ryan, Garen has participated in many previous productions including The Creature Creeps, Little Shop of Horrors, and Little Woman.

Jayne FlorenceJayna is the daughter of Shara Cox and Jim Florence and is a Sophomore at Hillsboro High School. Jayna has done many productions before including The Creature Creeps, Little Shop of Horrors and Little Women.

Sydney BaylessSidney is a Sophomore here at Hillsboro High School. Her parents, Dorothy and Marc Bayless, have encouraged her to participate in many shows in her high school career. Her previous show experiances include Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, The Creature Creeps, Little Shop of Horrors, and Little Women.

Mary MckenzieMary, the daughter of Mark McKenzie and Ann Burwinkel-McKenzie, is excited to be in another Hillsboro High School production. This Hillsboro Sophomore has been in several shows throughout her time at Hillsboro High School including Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, The Creature Creeps, Little Shop of Horrors, and Little Women.

Maddisen MikkelsenMaddisen, a Senior here at Hillsboro High School, is excited to be back for her final HHS production. The daughter of Terry and Vicki Mikkelse, Maddison has been in many previous productions including Mary Poppins Jr, Oklahoma, You Can’t Take It With You, A Christmas Chaos, The HHS Musical Showcase, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, The Creature Creeps, and Little Shop of Horrors.

Scarlett McElweeScarlett is a 7th grader in Hillsboro Middle School. This daughter of Lauren and Matt McElwee is making her theatrical debut with our showing of The Sound of Music.
