Ready to audition for the Bronco's Got Talent Showcase?  

We're looking to showcase all the talent at HMS!

Philosophy:

Our philosophy for our middle school Bronco's Got Talent showcase is to support as many students participating as possible.  However, due to time constraints and facilities, the show is only one night and the top rated acts from the audition process are chosen.

The Audition Process:
Step 1: Fill out and submit this google form
Step 2: Prepare for your audition!
Step 3: Check your audition time and be there 5 minutes early
Step 4: Attend auditions
Step 5: Check the final list of acts posted the Thursday after auditions

Auditions - What to expect:

Judges – There are 3 HMS staff judges and 3 HMS Playbill judges
                  Miss Laney is present for auditions, but does not judge.
Where – Auditions take place in Miss Laney’s room, 1001 (the theatre room) after school
Who – Auditions are CLOSED to any spectators (parents, friends, etc.) 

             They may wait in the hallway with you, but may not enter the room during your audition.
What – The judges will be judging each act based on the following criteria:
              APPROPRIATENESS:  Is the performance appropriate for student(s) & audience?
              STAGE PRESENCE:  Is the student “comfortable” being on stage?  Did the student display poise & confidence?  Was the performance clear and audible?  Don’t be afraid to move around, use the stage!
                LEVEL OF TALENT: 

                                    Vocal – were they on key? know the words?

                                    Musician – were they in tune and in tempo?
                                    Monologue – could you understand them?
                                    Comedy – were they funny/silly/ridiculous?
                                    Band – were they in tune, in tempo, on key?
                                    Dramatic/Skit – were they expressive, clear voice(s)?
                                   Other (yo-yo, jump rope, etc.) – was there talent present?
                OVERALL PRESENTATION

You must be able to commit to ALL of the dates below. 

***Please do not audition if you cannot commit to these dates.***

REQUIRED DATES:

Auditions - Monday, March 25th - OR - Tuesday March 26th

Mandatory Informational Meeting - Monday, April 1st (during Bronco Time)

Night of the Show - Friday, April 5th (5:00-9:00pm)

AUDITION REQUIREMENTS:

ALL song lyrics (for singing and dancing etc.) must be PRINTED and handed to the judges at the time of tryouts…. NO LYRICS = NO TRYOUTS

Full costume IS necessary during auditions.

Bring all necessary equipment (audio speaker and piano, will be provided - you must bring anything else you need) 

Music that is being used for singing MAY NOT have words on it unless it is background singers.

Time limit for each act is 4 minutes

You can be in only ONE (1) individual act and ONE (1) group act

All participants must be students at HMS.  (Only exception: piano accompaniment)
