About Macbeth

From the Director:

"When I began to set out an emotional direction for our production, I got caught in the co-dependancy of Macbeth and Lady Macbeth’s relationship, what they believe they owe to each other, how they interact with their own and the other’s failure. And here, Lady Macbeth’s maternity hovers over the play; her ‘failure’ to produce an heir haunts Macbeth’s rise to power, his “fruitless crown” bound up in his anxiety about longevity from the moment the Witches prophesy Banquo’s children to succeed rather than Macbeth’s own."

About CAST:

The shape of this year’s CAST marks a return to the spirit of older tours. We’re heading further south than usual, with the privilege of visiting Atlanta and Kentucky—plus a quick pit stop in Nashville! It’s been such a joy putting together a tour that brings back legacy venues like Harrisburg and Frostburg, whilst also introducing new ones such as the Paideia School in Atlanta.
