"Really Rosie" Brings Carole King & Maurice Sendak’s Whimsical World to Life

In celebration of the upcoming 50th anniversary vinyl re-issue of Carole King's original album Really Rosie, join us this spring for a magical Harmony Hearts performance of the beloved musical. First premiered as a CBS animated special in February 1975, Really Rosie tells the story of an ambitious and imaginative girl from Brooklyn who stages a musical about her life. Set to the vibrant melodies of Grammy-winning pop icon Carole King and paired with Maurice Sendak’s witty, subversive lyrics, the show explores themes of childhood whimsy, creativity, and self-discovery.

Audiences of all ages are invited to step inside the whimsical "Humble Neighborhood" of Rosie, a spirited 10-year-old with big dreams and an even bigger imagination. Determined to make her autobiographical movie about her life, and to do so, she recruits her quirky friends for "screen tests" that quickly transform into fantastical production numbers. From the catchy "Chicken Soup with Rice" to a vampire "Coming Attractions," an alphabet song with dancing alligators all around, and more, the kids' imaginative escapades come to life in the most delightful of ways.

At the heart of the show is Pierre, a cynical boy who believes in one simple motto: "I don't care." His world turns upside down when a lion offers him a very different perspective-by asking if he'd like to be eaten! How will he answer?

Audiences of all ages are invited to step into the lively, colorful world of Rosie and her friends, where the boundary between fantasy and reality blurs in the most charming of ways. All seating is general admission in cabaret-style seating at tables for up to 8+ guests. Tables are first come, first served, and you may be seated with other guests you may not know. Doors open 30 minutes before the advertised performance times.
