A Doll's House Cast

Mali Patel (Nora Helmer)
Mali is a junior at DMHS and is absolutely thrilled to be playing her first lead role. You may have seen her as Kathleen in Empty Suitcases (Starstruck) or in the ensemble of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland (DMHS). When she isn’t on stage, she can be found working on her novel or hanging out with her friends. Mali is also on the improv team and is so grateful to have all of these opportunities. She would like to thank this amazing cast and crew for all their hard work, especially Ms. Norton, for her incredible direction and for everything Mali has learned from her. She would also like to thank her friends and family for all of their support throughout her entire theatre journey, and hopes you enjoy the show!
Parker York (Thorwald Helmer)
Parker York (they/them) is a senior and is so excited to be Thorwald in DM’s A Doll’s House! You may have seen them in shows like The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee as Mitch Mahoney (DMHS), Legally Blonde Jr. as Paulette (Art & Sol), or The Broken Window as Ronnie (DMHS). This is Parker’s 4th show at DM but their 14th show in total. Parker has also worked on costumes tirelessly in shows like Shrek Jr. (Art & Sol), Newsies Jr. (Art & Sol), or Watching Paint Dry (Starstruck CT). They are so happy and sad that this is their last play on the DM stage and they hope you enjoy the show. Parker would like to thank their parents, sister, friends, Ms. Elizabeth and Mrs. Renee, and Ms. Norton for providing this opportunity. Ladies, here you go. @parker.jade.york
Maxwell Johnson (Nils Krogstad)
Maxwell Johnson's interest in theatre first sparked when he saw certain movies and tv shows. As a child, he became fascinated with the world of acting, and behind the scenes of how it worked. During his last year of middle school, he began his journey getting experience in theatre with his first performance. The teachers that thought him had inspired him to push further into high school and beyond. Through this first year alone, he learned valuable skills that would be taken into theatre from then on. In the future, Maxwell aspires to be a professional actor, taking on a career path in acting once he finishes college.
Mayraa Srivastava (Mrs. Christina Linden)
Mayraa Srivastava is a senior at Desert Mountain High School, and has been involved in theatre since her freshman year. Although she has participated in every aspect of theatrical productions, from ASM her freshman year to co-head of sound crew as a junior, this will be her second time on the stage after her debut as the Dormouse in Alice. Mayraa’s experience in both technical and acting aspects of theatre give her a well rounded background to tackle a variety of problems thrown her way. In sound crew, she uses the actor’s perspective in her adjustments of volume and cueing music; as an actor, her experience on stage crew gives her the ability to help when needed and take set and props into account when moving around on the stage.
Summer Smith (Nora Helmer (Understudy))
Summer Smith is thrilled to be joining the cast of A Doll’s House! She first stepped on stage in Pandora’s Fire, where she played Aphrodite, and that experience sparked her passion for acting. Since then, she has primarily focused on training for TV production and auditioning for projects with Disney, Nickelodeon, Netflix, and a variety of independent short films. While screen work has been her main focus, Summer has loved the opportunity to return to theatre and be part of such a powerful play. She is especially grateful for the rehearsal process, which has been both challenging and rewarding, and for the chance to make new friends and memories along the way. Summer is excited to continue growing as an artist and hopes you enjoy the show!
Elizabeth Tratnack (Ellen)
Elizabeth is so glad that she is able to participate in both the cast and crew of A Doll's House here at DM! Her previous credits include Watching Paint Dry and My Father's Daughter at Starstruck CT, as well as the productions at DM since her freshman year. Recently, she has been involved in her school's theatre department through her role as Historian of the drama club and as a member of the improv team. She would like to give a huge thank you to all of her friends, family, and Ms. Norton for supporting and encouraging her throughout this production. And with that, enjoy the show!
Sophia Martone-Zoll (Anna)
Sophia is excited to make her return to the DMHS stage for the fourth time in A Doll’s House! You might have seen her recently as Raquel in Watching Paint Dry (Starstruck) or Dani in The Broken Window (DMHS)—or maybe you caught a DMHS Improv show; a troupe which she now co-captains. Additionally, this is her second year on the Drama Club board as vice president and she sometimes writes plays; Nowhere in Particular is her original work for which she received the Jerome McDonough playwright award at ThesCon. She would like to thank her friends for making every rehearsal a blast and Ms. Norton for the opportunity. Enjoy the show!
Sarah White (Ivar Helmer)
Although this is her first play, Sarah has had experience in musical theatre since the age of 7, ranging from playing the Queen of Hearts in “Alice in Wonderland” to playing Mrs. Mayor in “Seussical Jr.”. She is also a very artistic person, with hobbies such as knitting, crocheting and playing the piano. More of her favorite roles include Kate from “Legally Blonde Jr.” and Mrs. Paroo from “The Music Man Kids”. She has put in lots of hard work along with others and is excited to be part of a DM Theatre Production for her first time. Sarah has always loved watching or being in performances, as she takes inspiration from seeing multiple musicals and plays on Broadway when she was younger. As this is her first DM Theatre Production she’s been involved in, and she appreciates the hard work of all the cast and crew working to make this play possible.
Maria Voysey (Emmy Helmer)
Maria has spent four years in theatre and six years in choir, developing a love for performing and storytelling. She has played the white rabbit in a student run production of Alice in Wonderland and Jetsam in The Little Mermaid, bringing both humor and energy to the stage. Her choir experience has strengthened her voice, taught her technique and built her confidence as a performer. Maria enjoys working with directors, castmates and musicians to create shows that connect with an audience. She continues to grow her skills in acting, singing and teamwork and looks forward to new roles and challenges in the performing arts.
Evan Moomjian  (Dr Rank)
EVAN MOOMJIAN is a sophomore at Desert Mountain and is excited to appear in his third Desert Mountain theatre production. His previous roles include: Chip in The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, Killian in The Broken Window, and Oberon in Midsummer/Jersey at Stagedoor Manor in NY. Evan enjoys traveling, spending time with his friends, and supporting local community theatres. He is so grateful to Ms. Norton for such a great opportunity, to the entire cast and crew for their hard work, and his family for their support. He also thanks and misses his late middle school teacher, Mrs. O'Rourke, for inspiring his passion for theatre. He hopes you all enjoy the show.
Jackson Poe (Porter/Dr Rank (Understudy))
Jackson is thrilled to make his DMHS play debut as the Porter and understudy for Dr. Rank in A Doll's House. He brings three years of theater experience to the stage, including playing King Triton in The Little Mermaid Jr. at Desert Canyon Middle School and performing in the ensemble of The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee at Desert Mountain High School. Jackson dreams of one day playing Emmett Forrest in Legally Blonde and hopes to bring that role to life at DMHS this year.
