About Pagosa The Beautiful: A Star-Spangled Evening

Curtains Up Pagosa wants to take the time to honor those who have and continue to serve our country. We want to honor the country we live in. Pagosa The Beautiful is our way of saying Thank You to our service members, both active and retired. It is our way of being grateful for the freedoms we have, the beautiful surrounding we live in, and the people we love. The American Legion Post #108 will be presenting colors at the beginning of the concert, and also be doing a flag-folding presentation where they explain the significance of each fold. Members of the Community Band, Community Choir, Curtains Up Pagosa, the St. Patrick's Episcopal Church Choir, and many more will be sharing the stage to honor our beautiful country.

Curtains Up Pagosa is working to expand to provide the local talent of Pagosa Springs more opportunities to be inspired to learn and grow in their skills in the performing arts. We are also working to develop more shows, concerts, and other events to provide the community with more opportunities to be entertained by our local artists. We recently had Dan Hoy, New York Actor, visit for a weekend to clinic a masterclass for our local talent. He also presented a 2 hour vocal concert of Broadway, Jazz and Pop music.

CUP currently produces two full-length musicals a year plus additional concerts and other community focused events. We give not only college scholarships, but also monies for lessons, camps, instruments, and more. CUP remains the sponsor of performing arts in the schools and performing arts education in the community!

The CUP mission is to nurture, educate, inspire, and strengthen Pagosa's artists through the power of the performing arts, and to entertain our community by providing a superior theatrical experience.

We continue to offer excellence and professionalism in our productions, in addition to providing a safe and creative space for our actors to thrive. We are here as a service to our community. We want to help our community save the world, one musical at a time!

 

Below are the Curtains Up Board of Directors. The board meets monthly to go over plans, policies, event schedules, finances, and much more. These are the true behind the scenes members of the organization that help to plan everything the organization does to provide opportunities to the community. We are always looking to figure out how we can grow and provide more opportunities in different aspects. We strive to being the community closer together and provide opportunities for education, relationship building, providing a safe space, as well as much more.
