25 years ago, Ms. Chaplar began teaching at Crescenta Valley High, and with theater teacher Brent Beerman, began the tradition of the spring musical. A classically trained pianist and vocalist, Ms. Chaplar has performed with the Pasadena Pops, Intimate Opera, and the LA Phil. Acting Roles: USS PINAFORE (Buttercup - Crown City Theatre) and AMAHL AND THE NIGHT VISITORS (Shepherdess - Pasadena Playhouse). Composer: 22% FEAR, a Rock Musical and A JOURNEY OF ANGELS. She is thankful to work in a community whose continued support of the arts has allowed this program to flourish.

This is Amy's 5th year directing theater at CV. A program alum, she enjoys every minute working with her "big kids". When she isn't teaching theater, you can find her working as a voice actor, being a mom to Sam, gardening, wearing oversized cardigan sweaters, drinking coffee, rooting for the Houston Astros, and wrangling Doodles.
