Fiona Burrows (she/they) is ecstatic to make their Conundrum directing debut! Past directing credits include “Horse Girls”, “Romeo & Juliet”, and assistant directing “Native Gardens” at Chapman University. Other selected credits include “She Kills Monsters” (Long Beach Playhouse, Tilly), “Fancy Nancy” (Chance Theater, Rhonda), and an original devised production: “Standing Proud: A Collection Of Our Asian Voices” (Chapman University, co-writer/actor). A HUGE thank you to the incredibly talented cast and crew of Urinetown for creating this meaningful and hilarious production! Erick Marquez
As a Queer Identifying, 1st Generation Mexican American born in Boyle Heights/East Los Angeles, Erick began his theatrical journey at a young age. Since earning his BA from California State University: Northridge in 2018, he has produced and directed The Rocky Horror Show (Grand Arts), Tribes (CSUN), The Shadow Box (Logandio Productions) and Trail to Oregon (Bridgeway Theatre). His day job consists of managing operations and programming at the Victory Theatre Center in Burbank. He also produces events at the VTC in Burbank, most recently and notable was Perdida’s Phantasms: A Queer Horror Digital Event showcasing digital content from Local Queer Musicians and Drag Performers. When he isn’t working on a theatrical production, he enjoys lifting weights, streaming on Twitch.tv and producing music under the alias: Mark Ez. Elizabeth Curtin (she/her) is a multi-hyphenate musician & performer who is excited to make her Conundrum debut with Urinetown. She would like to thank everyone involved for their warm welcome and massive talent – especially her band. Leonel "Leo" Ayala
Leo (he/him) is a freelance choreographer located in Los Angeles. Fresh off his choreographic success of In The Heights at the Morgan-Wixson Theater, where he received a Broadway World LA nomination for Best Choreography of a Musical, Leo is excited to continue his theatrical choreographer journey, this time with Conundrum Theater! Previous credits include: In the Heights (PVPA, MTWest, Candlelight), 9 to 5! (MTWest), A Chorus Line (Welk Resort), Something Rotten! Grey Arias
Grey Arias (she/they) is pleased to make her Conundrum debut as Stage Manager for Conundrum's production of Urinetown. Grey is currently pursuing a B.A. in Theatre, Design and Production Option at Cal State LA. The passion for the stage ignited in their sophomore year of high school back in 2015, performing in productions such as Hello Dolly!, The Addams Family, and Once On This Island. In 2019, a new love blossomed for stage management. They went on to manage such shows as Authenticity The Musical and the award-winning play Pipeline. They have recently returned to the stage after a 4 year hiatus performing in the musical Something Rotten at Cal State LA. When they aren't working on a show, Grey enjoys spending time with friends, her cats, and doing things that make her happy. She would love to thank Conundrum Theater Company for giving her a chance to manage this awesome show!

Jordan Kaiser (she/her) is thrilled to PLUNGE right into the hilarious world of Urinetown! She currently serves as Publicity and Events Chair on the Conundrum board, and has directed our production of Rent, assistant directed Cabaret, and production managed our Little Shop of Horrors and A Weekend of One Acts festival. Dan Gonda
Dan is a woodwind doubler that has been playing in musicals in LA ranging from "You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown" to "Legally Blonde" to "Assassins". He also plays with the Eisner Intergeneration Big Band through Heart of Los Angeles, jazz ensembles at Glendale College, and his own combo, Tonic Trio. This is his 3rd season with Conundrum, and he always enjoys coming back! It's always been a great community and Company to be a part of show after show.

Takako Cardenas
Meet Takako Cardenas, a trombonist/euphonium player from Fukuoka, Japan. With roots in the Fukuoka School of Music and further studies at Citrus College in Glendora, California, Takako has spent the past 15 years as a freelance trombonist, lending her skills to various musical productions, including "Mary Poppins," "Assassins," "Nice Work If You Can Get It," and "Evita," among others. Takako is excited to be a part of this production of Urinetown as she adds her melodious touch to the ensemble.

Mark Hollmann

Mark Hollmann received the Tony Award®, the National Broadway Theatre Award, and the Obie Award for his score to Urinetown the Musical, which had its start in the 1999 New York International Fringe Festival. It won Outer Critics Circle, Drama League, and Lucille Lortel Awards for best musical in addition to garnering 10 Tony Award® nominations. Other shows as composer/lyricist include Yeast Nation (2011 New York International Fringe Festival, Perseverance Theatre, American Theatre Company, and Ray of Light Theatre), Bigfoot and Other Lost Souls (Atlantic Stage and Perseverance Theatre), The Man in the White Suit (New York Stage and Film), The Girl, the Grouch, and the Goat (University Theatre, U. of Kansas), Alchemist the Musical (Seattle Fringe Festival), Jack the Chipper (Greenview Arts Center, Chicago), Kabooooom! (University Theater, U. of Chicago), I Think I Can and Deal with It! (Berkshire Theatre Festival), and Fare for All (Mount Vernon Hotel Museum & Garden, NYC). Actor and/or co-writer for the Cardiff Giant Theater (Chicago) productions The Rack, Theater of Funny, The Mercy Ripper, LBJFKKK, Love Me, All Eight Die, and After Taste, the last of which he also directed. TV: songs for Disney Channel's Johnny and the Sprites. He has served on the Tony Nominating Committee, serves on the Council of the Dramatists Guild of America, and is a member of ASCAP. He is also a member of Sure Foundation Lutheran Church in Woodside, Queens, where he serves as a part-time pianist. He and his wife Jilly live in Manhattan with their sons, Oliver and Tucker.

 

Greg Kotis

Greg Kotis wrote the book and co-wrote the lyrics for URINETOWN THE MUSICAL, for which he won two Tony Awards in 2002. His new play, PIG FARM, opened at The Roundabout Theatre in New York City and at The Old Globe Theatre in San Diego in 2006. Currently, he is developing two new musicals with Mark Hollmann: YEAST NATION (the triumph of life), an original story that tells the tale of the dawn of life on Earth, and THE MAN IN THE WHITE SUIT, a musical version of the 1951 Alec Guiness film. Other plays include EAT THE TASTE (at New York's Barrow Street Theatre), JOBEY AND KATHERINE, BARON von SIEBENBURG MELTS THROUGH THE FLOORBOARDS, and GIVE THE PEOPLE WHAT THEY WANT. Greg lives in Brooklyn with his wife Ayun, his daughter India, and his son Milo.
