Chicago, Teen Edition (Velma/Roxie -double cast- see below for info)

Event Description

In “Roaring Twenties” Chicago, chorine Roxie Hart murders a faithless lover and convinces her hapless husband, Amos, to take the rap... until he finds out he's been duped and turns on Roxie. Convicted and sent to death row, Roxie and another "Merry Murderess," Velma Kelly, vie for the spotlight and the headlines, ultimately joining forces in search of the "American Dream": fame, fortune, and acquittal. Features Kander and Ebb's musical theatre favorites like “All That Jazz”  "They Both Reached for the Gun"  “Razzle Dazzle” and “Roxie” amongst other hits and iconic Bob Fosse inspired choreography. 

Chicago: Teen Edition has been adapted to remove overtly sexual references and adult language and is appropriate for audiences 13 and over.  

The musical does reference sex, alcohol and the hanging of one of the women on death row.

The Harlequin Club is CB West High School's Drama Club under the direction of Claudine Piechotta.

The Club is a recognized Gold Honor Troupe (2115) and member of the International Thespian Honor Society. 

The Harlequin Club performs 2 full length musicals and a play every season on the main stage, with additional cabarets, student directed one acts and other performances throughout the year. 

They are also proud members of the Philadelphia Independence Awards, where they have been recognized every year for their exceptional work in high school performing arts.
